Arrived today. I programmed it myself—was a bit nervous, but it worked perfectly! I used the 30-minute programming method (basically 3 minutes of actual steps and 27 minutes of waiting for the dash to allow the next phase). This method is for when you have either NO smart key or only ONE smart key. What I learned is that if you already have TWO programmed keys, you can use the much faster method instead. But if you don’t, then the 30-minute method is the way to go. Very satisfied!----------------I'm posting here the method I used. ---------------------REMEMBER THAT BEFORE YOU EXIT THE PROGRAMMING PROCESS, YOU’LL NEED TO REPROGRAM YOUR OLD KEY FOB AS WELL—THIS METHOD ERASES ALL PREVIOUSLY STORED KEYS AND PROGRAMS NEW ONES ONLY.If there are no currently recognized transmitters available, follow this procedure to program up to eight transmitters. This feature is not available in Canada. This procedure will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. The vehicle must be off and all transmitters to be programmed must be with you.1. Remove the vehicle key from the transmitter.2. Insert the vehicle key into the key lock cylinder on the driver door handle; then turn the key counterclockwise, to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) displays REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT3. Wait for 10 minutes until the DIC displays PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN, then press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The DIC display will again show REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.4. Repeat Step 3 two additional times. After the third time all previously known transmitters will no longer work with the vehicle. Remaining transmitters can be relearned during the next steps. The DIC display should now show READY FOR REMOTE # 1.5. Place the new transmitter in the transmitter pocket/insert. Open the center console storage area and the storage tray. The transmitter pocket/insert is in front of the storage area next to the center console storage area between the driver and front passenger seats.6. Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. When the transmitter is learned, the DIC display will show that it is ready to program the next transmitter.7. Remove the transmitter from the transmitter pocket/insert and press unlock or lock on the transmitter.To program additional transmitters, repeat Steps 5–7. When all additional transmitters are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.8. Return the key back into the transmitter.

Follow the instructions posted by Igor. Thank you, works perfect does take some time and (I did still have one original key). Had I known it was going to work like it did I would have ordered 2 keys to have another spare. ( once you are in the programming mode it only takes a second to program additional keys) but the process to get there takes about 30 minutes.

Exactly same fob as my original minus the GMC logo. Unfortunately the programming did not work for my truck. That part I don't understand. Truck doesn't do anything when following instructions. Instead just used this case with old remote board and functioning again.

Look up Igor Pires' review on this exact key fob. He'll walk you through the 7 steps to program the key fob!(The hidden slot for the key programming is on the middle, bottom storage area. Mine, an LT, was a small slot the exact size of the key fob towards the back. I faced the buttons toward the back.)Worked perfectly!!!!

Perfect replacement transmitter. My transmitter went out after 4 years. The dealership wanted $180 for a new transmitter and more money to program it. I was left with only 1 working transmitter, I was hesitant to order this one but after reading a few reviews and the instructions on how to program it I ordered it and happy to say it works. The key is not cut so if you need a new key then you have to take it to a locksmith, but the transmitter works just fine after you program it. If you only have 1 transmitter then you need to follow the instructions provided here by another reviewer "Igor Pires". It will take you about 30 minutes, but be patient and follow the instructions. They work.
