Thin plastic and will crack under any pressure.
The first time I used these trays one cracked in my hand. From the first time to now, I have to use a large metal spoon to whack the bottom of the trays (ONLY) where the color portions are to get the ice to pop out into a bowl. If you try to do by hand the white part cracks. I gave it two stars because it does make ice, and the other star is that the clear plastic cover does do a good job. HOWEVER, easy release (not even close) and large cubes (?) they come out thin and small about the size of half a red school eraser. The kind you can get that comes in two in a pack. The directions come with only fill ice hole half full or it could stick to the clear cover. Spill resistant... Well when you can only fill half full that shouldn't be a problem. I still have two of the original four and I had purchased the set around a month ago. NOT very economical.

Decent Ice Trays
The idea behind these trays is great. Silicone makes it easier to push each ice cube out, however, you cannot fill the water above the silicone line. That means that your ice cubes end up being very small, and it is really hard to not overfill them. I end up just giving up and breaking the ice cubes trying to get them out. I love that they have lids (which is actually why I bought them) because they are easy to stack. I would not buy these again because they frustrate me, and I would not recommend these too a friend.

Could be better
The ability to release individual ice cubes separately is nice, though it takes a bit more force than you might think.Filling it with evenly with water is a problem, though. You don't want to overfill it because that will result in one big block of ice which does not separate into cubes without having to smash it. It is a pain to fill each cube separately, so it needs to be dunked and then tilt back and forth until the water level is low enough yet evenly distributed.

Small Cubes
There are people (family members) who are always in & out of the freezer sticking their unwashed hands in the ice from the ice maker. These ice trays are perfect just for me. They don't take up a lot of space at all. My only issue is the ice cubes are kinda small. It takes one & a half trays to fill up a good size cup. Other than that, I'm satisfied & my ice is always covered & clean.

They do not stack!
Great ice trays for my kid who absolutely needs ice in everything and they seem they will be very durable. The only thing i dont like is they do not stack on eachother. The parts that hold the ice goes straight into the bottom one if you try to stack them so make sure you have decent room in your freezer if you need multiples.

Pretty shallow trays.
I wish they were slightly deeper. I was surprised at how shallow these ice trays were. I use ice for my smoothies in the morning so I'll have to adjust how many I usually put in there because the ice cubes are much smaller than my previous ice trays. I love the lids though and they seem to be good quality so far.

Need ice? Try these.
These Silicone Ice Cube Trays are pretty decent. I've tried several different kinds but they have either been hard to empty or leave the ice tasting like rubber. With a full tray you give it a slight twist which cracks most of the ice loose and then turn it over. The ones that dont fall out are easily remove by pressing on the bottom. I usually dump the ice into a bowl and then slid the ice into my cup. Works well. They come with lids but I dont really have a need for them.So...if you need some good ice trays give these a try.

Issues with lid
I mostly got this in hopes the lids would seal better since my freezer is always full and I sometimes just need to shove things in there. When they froze, the lid was already half off and the ice got that freezer odor. The ice cubes were easy to get out for the most part though.
