Amazing Investment for Capturing Video Game Footage
This review is for the UGREEN HDMI Capture Card.Wow! At under $40 this is such a good deal. I remember when capture cards were above the $150 range. This is a UGREEN-branded product, and I've purchased UGREEN products from Amazon before and they have never disappointed me. This capture card is no different.I wanted this so that I could start a new island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and so that I could capture new gameplay as I set up and decorate my new island. Setting up OBS Studio was extremely easy with the included instructions. Everything worked right away. The video quality has been great for me, but please remember that I'm not a streamer. I don't stream my video games live.I use this to record in-game footage so that I can edit it and condense later in a video editor, and this has worked amazingly well for that purpose.

Decent quality for the price
Works well, the video quality is good. I use this to get my Nintendo Switch onto my computer so I don't have to go through the process of swapping inputs on my monitor. Very easy to use, follow the included directions and you should be good. Decent price. The few cons I will say is 1 the cable is fairly short, which will put strain on whatever cable is holding it up USB/HDMI. The only other con is the audio, I noticed that it will have static in the audio pretty frequently. If you turn the volume down on OBS (or whatever software you may be using to view the input) it is much less noticeable but definitely still there.

Easy to Use, Well Designed & Well-Made
Impressive quality recordings with this HDMI Capture Card by UGreen. Its plug-n-play design makes it very easy to set up and start recording immediately without any unnecessary or complicated installation of drivers or apps. Its very easy to use and a good value for at this price.

Pretty solid entry level capture device, nice metal body. Some quirks, don't like fused dongle
If your looking to record HDMI video or broadcast to a streaming site like Twitch or Discord, but don't want to spend 100 bucks, this USB capture device is a pretty good value at only 40 USD or less.It seems to be recognized as a high definition webcam, which means the drivers are already installed in most modern PCs, and even some smartphones and tablets, no need for proprietary software just for this specific capture card. All you need is the recording or streaming software of your choice. The reliance on webcam protocol is a double edged sword though, as you have to rely on the receiving software's settings and can't just merge the audio into video before going to the capture software, and the methods to combine them in software are not always straightforward. You will want to keep the instructions, or even double check the store page which keeps a handy (if mispelled) guide there to help with setup on OBS, and some settings to change to get consoles to work.Stream quality on twitch wasn't the greatest, though it was more than good enough for me. I'm inclined to believe my hardware and understanding of OBS/Twich are not up to par yet, so this is likely no fault of the UGreen. When using a splitter to send the video signal from a Nintendo Switch to the Ugreen and my TV, and another cable from the output on the Ugreen to a another TV, both the TVs and sound were perfectly in sync with no perceptible delay. I'd say the pass through video works great and speedy for 1080P signals. As for setup quirks, the pass-through video only works if your USB port is sending power to the Ugreen. This means that if your PC or USB hub is off and provides no power to the USB ports in that state, then video will not route to your TV or monitor through the Ugreen. If you don't like reconnecting cables to play your games while not streaming, this could be a drawback. My Huion drawing monitor did not seem to like the video looped out from ithe Ugreen, and couldn't play the video. My portable Prechen branded monitor worked just fine with the output though. This means there could be some monitors that wont cooperate with the output.Video remained stable even when plugged into a USB 3.0 hub, so it seems a 3 foot extension cable will not hurt video quality much if at all if the cable is too short for your PC.I don't like the USB A dongle being molded directly into the cable. The only way to remove it is to damage the cable. I wish it was just a rubber loop that you could detach if you only needed the USB C port. The tether might get in the way of plugging it in to some PCs, although the A port dongle is fairly slim otherwise. It also has that limit of 4K at 30 hz passthrough. If your recording from newer consoles like PS5 Pro and have a TV with 60-120 hz, then depending on your game settings you may only be getting a quarter of your frame rate. If you don't want to sacrifice video quality on your TV or monitor, then your better off paying for a higher priced capture cared with better pass-through.The quirks aside, I'm very happy with this video capture device. At it's price range the quality and functionality is good, even if you need to run through a couple hoops to get it working the way you need.

Excellent capture card
The documentation for this capture card was EXCELLENT. Additionally, they included a Quick Start Guide for those using OBS. I have absolutely no complaints about the visual quality of the capture. Would recommend!
