Excellent Dock, If I had it to do over again…
Performs flawlessly at maximum rated speeds with no disconnection issues. Excellent dock for the price… however… if I had it to do over again I would go with the expanded port OWC TB4 dock because you will at some point need additional USB A ports. Ended up having to buy a second unit with more USB A ports and now I’m running 2 docks simultaneously

Solid on all points.. love it!
Works perfectly and a fair price, especially happy it can ramp up the power on its USB-A port in order to charge iPads and especially my superdrive, without connecting directly to my MacBook Pro M3 pro. I opted for this thunderbolt 5 hub, even though my MacBook is thunderbolt 4, to future proof myself. Thus, I can't really say I'd buy it again, because I won't need to, so instead I will say I highly recommend it. One caveat is, it's not exactly plug and play right out of the box, so I had to open up the MacBook and give the device permission to be used so that My BenQ monitor would fire up and the driver install to enable superdrive support is a little odd, because you have to roll back the software and driver to an older version for it to work, had to hunt around to find this little tidbit out. I won't hold that hiccup against it, because it is solidly build, silent, warm but not hot, and does everything OWC says it does. I can't really ask for more than that... What I'd like to see is updated software that includes superdrive & iPad/iPhone fast charging working or at least clear messaging about the software roll-back until they get it working in the latest software version.

Great, well-priced unit. Just doesn’t support TB3 in windows
Work great with one exception which is a deal breaker, it doesn’t support Thunderbolt 3 on Windows, only for Macs. My work computer is so old that it only has thunderbolt 3, so I had to return it, unfortunately. If they ever upgrade my machine, I’ll buy it again.

Good Hub - Almost Worth the Price
It's working great so far - no overheating, no disconnects, good speeds, rugged, and it was easy to setup straight out of the box. It's a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for, and that's a good hub in this case.

Perfect for an older M1 MBA
The recent price drop finally allowed me to justify this purchase. Now I can connect my external monitor, ssd's and time machine drive while charging my 5 year old M1 MBA which has only 2 usb C / TB 3 ports. The OWC is solid, with a chunky (and reassuring) power supply. With 4 USB-C/TB 3 ports, I can transfer my older projects from external ssd to an archive HDD

Short Life Span
I had originally purchased the OWC 5 Port Thunderbolt Hub when I purchased the M1 Mac Mini upon it's initial release. I immediately had problems with the supplied long Thunderbolt 4 cable that connects the unit to the M1 Mac as the cable failed to firmly seat and would literally fall out of the port. I contacted OWC concerning the issue and was told that I needed to purchase a set of 4 braces held in by supplied thumbscrews that cost $20 for a set of 4. I was baffled as to why the braces were not included with the hub since the hub was already fitted with threaded female openings to accommodate the screws. I must add that the supplied long thunderbolt cable with this unit was the actual culprit as it was manufactured too small because every other thunderbolt cable that I received with my external drive enclosures fit the ports on this hub perfectly and without the use of those "stupid" braces. So I just purchased the new M4 Mac Mini Pro upon it's release which replaces my M2 Mac Studio that replaced my M1 Mac and as it goes during this process the OWC 5 Port Thunderbolt Hub completely died for no apparent reason. After researching possibilites I learned that there was plenty of documented cases with owners who had experienced exactly the same problems with cables falling off and the unit eventually dying after such a short period of time. Ironically I decided to repurchase the exact same hub due to it's much lowered price and because I will eventually purchase thunderbolt 5 hubs & drives to accomidate my M4 Mac Pro and it's Thunderbolt 5 ports. I should add that the new unit that I purchased also came with a suppled longer TB4 cable and it actually fits!
