A solid simple leather guard

Perfect fit for the Hults Bruk Akka. Very well made. Leather is dry so recommend some conditioner.

fits great on a hults bruk akka axe
Wished i didnt need an overstrike guard buuuut i damaged my HB Akka axe from an overstrike, hence this guard. fit is great! looks great! leather feels awesome and the HB emboss is very clear and centered. i would say it works and looks great on the akka but is a little small for my Gransfors small forest axe. the shoulder on the GB is bigger. overall, dig it! hopefully i dont ever overstrike but not counting on that.

Great quality and adds a level of safety to your axe.
Fit: Made for the Spika but fits the Kisa as well. Adds a level of safety and security from overstrikes. Made of quality materials and looks great on the axe. Seems like it will last for many years of use.

Weak leather stripping
The overstike leather was very nice. I was able to rip the stripping while tightening the guard onto the handle. I do not recommend

Fits Gransfor Bruks forest axe
Fit my new BG forest axe perfectly. Really nice piece. Very strong leather cord. Worth it.

Not What I Expected
Completely umimpressed. The leather barely covers half of the handle, and the Hults Bruk Imprint is barely legible. They also don't offer a straight top, which would fit my new Yankee Agbor pattern felling axe. I could live with that if not for the other issues--especially the brand, which is really what you're paying so much for over one another.

It’s a thick leather sleeve that slides over the upper part of a Hultafors axe handle. It fits my Hultafors Ekeland axe perfectly, right below the head. The purpose is simple: if you overstrike and the edge misses the log, the guard takes the impact instead of splintering or breaking the handle.Out of the packet the leather is quite dry and stiff, so after fitting I applied leather balm which made the lacing more supple and darkened the leather to a rich honey colour.Looks absolutely class on the axe. Once it’s on, it doesn’t move. No glue, no screws, no hose clamps required; just the natural grip of properly fitted leather. It adds virtually zero weight and doesn’t affect balance at all. A new Hultafors hickory handle costs at least £10 more than this guard, and re-handling an axe is a pain. Put one of these on the day you buy the axe and you’ll probably never need a new handle. One star removed because the leather was dry out of the box. Recommend
