3 HP 3450 RPM Single Phase 56 Frame 230V 15 Amp 5/8" Shaft NEMA Compressor Motor

I was a little hesitant in going with a motor made in the Land of China, but it's distributed through a retailer in Texas that has a good reputation so I did. The alternative was one made in Mexico, so I don't feel too bad. The motor arrived nicely packaged, and in perfect condition. I bolted it to my compressor, hooked up the wiring and installed the pulley and belt and it works great. It is in fact a bit quieter than my previous motor, which must have been going out for a while. No regrets, and a good price too.

Our 16yr old air compressor motor had finally gave up. We were torn between either a.) having the motor rebuilt b) buying a genuine new motor c) buying an after market motor.We went with (c) and so far we are glad we did. It works just as good as the original, possibly even better. Its only been a few months so far but we have already put mileage on it and its ticking really well.

This is really a good quality Chinese Clone of a US made Century/Magnetek motor. The windings are tight and well bound, the balancing is very good, only slight vibration. The shaft size is dead on at .875. The cons, keyway is slightly loose maybe .001 or .002 oversize and I wish the electrical connector studs were bigger, big enough to use a #10 ring terminal. It has pairs of 1/4 inch spades at each stud which I don't like to use at this ampacity. Very happy with the motor.

Starts off good but after a few months the bears start to drag and causes the motor to over heat. I have changed the bears twice and now I am going to order an exact replacement motor from Ingersoll Ran. Tried to save some money but guess you can’t save money and get good quality.

This is / was an exact replacement of the motor that was on my compressor for 7 years. This particular motor lasted from 7/15/24 to 10/23/24, That's it. There's no statement of warranty outside of the 30 days provided by Amazon. It's typical quality from across the pond, beware.The company has been good about communication, but they want me to bare the cost of returning the motor for repair. I've already lost too much time and feel that this would not be a wise investment. I have learned to not buy motors of this quality from this vendor anymore.

This motor was great for me. The previous motor I had was "MARKETED" and labeled as a 3.5HP. But it was a 15 amp motor (120V) with a 56 frame. Even though this one says it is only rated at 2HP (actual best calculation I could do came up to about 2.20-2.30HP actual) but is stronger, and seems more efficient, than the supposed 3.5HP motor it replaced. This is not guarantee it will work in your application, but, if the amps and frame match it will likely be a great replacement!

Order came a few days ahead of time. I was expecting a made in China motor, but was pleasantly surprised to see that it was made in Canada. The packing was the very best I have ever seen , bar none. This is going on a 72” x 2”belt grinder. Fair price, Great motor.

Everything swapped over easy from one motor to the New one. Also bolted right to where it was supposed to go
