This is a duplicate review of the same devices that also come in a three pack. I have purchased both and they seem to be identical. So I'm copying my review here as well. There's a lot to like about these little sensors, but a few things to note as well. First, I bought one of these to test before committing to putting them on all of my windows and doors. Worked great. I have now purchased several more sensors. I've seen recommendations that you don't pair your devices with the receiver until you have it near where the final install is located. It was explained that zigbee networks kind of self-sort and adjust power, channels, etc. based on the network signal. I have no idea if this is true, just passing it on. The Good: -- I connected these to Home Assistant via a Sonoff Zigbee USB receiver and ZHA integration. Home Assistant picked it up almost immediately upon putting it into pairing mode. -- The open/close signal is picked up within a fraction of a second. Very sensitive. -- There's a basic temperature sensor in the device that is reported back to HA. -- The devices report back LQI for your network. Kind of handy to know. -- However small you think these things are, you're wrong. They're smaller. I wouldn't call them non-descript, but they were significantly smaller than the devices they replaced. A quarter of the size. You can find the dimensions on the product page. The Less Than Ideal: -- Sometimes when I close my windows, the window "bounces" a little. Just enough for the sensor to "close" and then immediately "open" again even though the window is closed and properly seated. It's kind of annoying since the only way to see if this happened is to open the HA app and check the status. Maybe I should just pulse the lights in the room when it's been closed for 5 seconds. Anyways... -- There is only a small fraction of the information I would have preferred transmitted -- RSSI is not reported to HA. Not sure if this is a HA thing, Sonoff thing, ZHA thing, or Aqara thing. -- The temperature isn't very useful. It's the temperature of your door frame basically. I'm not entirely sure about the accuracy, but I have my doubts. The Ugly: -- The batteries that are shipped all show up as about 75% upon installation. Really annoying. But not a dealbreaker I suppose. The Undetermined: -- I've had these installed for 2-3 months. For the first month, several batteries went from "100%" to 77.5%. All have basically stayed at 77.5% for the entirety of the second and third months. Another went from "100%" to 55% in the first month. Another is at 65% after two months. There's no correlation between amount of use and battery life as of yet. My longest-lasting and first installed battery is also the battery with the highest amount of life left. Bottom Line: I'd recommend them if you're looking for non-wifi, immediate signal, zigbee door/window sensors that are small. They tick just about every box you could need.

I have an August lock that is supposed to provide some "door ajar" alerts. It never does, and the sensor does not integrate well with HomeKit. Recently, I put down a door mat that catches on my door and leaves it open, and I've had a few times where I've left the house and left my door wide open because I'm used to it closing behind me. I already have a few Aqara sensors around my house for leak detection, and a door sensor on a deck door that is harder to close and can get left ajar accidentally, so I decided to get another sensor for my front door. This sensor is perfect! It was easy to setup and get connected to my existing Aqara hub, and it works very well with HomeKit. I get notifications every time the door is open or closed, and in addition, priority alerts when the door is left open past my timeout setting (two minutes). Installing it was also a breeze, and one of the sensor parts is small enough that it fits on my recessed doorframe with just enough distance between the sensors for it to be effective detecting opening and closing. My Zigbee hub is close by, so it does not need to communicate over a long distance, which should probably help with battery life - however, the sensor on my other door is on a second floor and it communicates perfectly, and I have only had to replace its battery twice. I continue to be pleased with the Aqara ecosystem!

Worked great with home assistant was able to set up some automations no problem didn’t have to use 3rd party app or anything and they have a super small footprint

I initially got this thinking it would work out of the box with SmartThings, because their website does list several Aqara products (including door and window sensors) as being compatible but turns out that there are different models and this specific one is not officially supported. If you try to pair it, it just shows up as a Zigbee switch device instead of a sensor. I was about to return it when I found a custom Edge driver on the SmartThings forums (just search for "smartthings aqara driver" and you'll find it), and once you install that, it works almost flawlessly. The pairing process is a bit flaky and it can take a few minutes for SmartThings to detect the sensors, but once added, they work really well.

This is a very small sensor, glues to the door and frame without any cable, looks slick and you can't even notice it on a white door. This door sensor is made well, solid plastic with a premium feel to it. I have been using 5 of these on my doors, connected to the Aqara app but they sync with Home Apple via the Aqara app. After 1 year, the battery is still good, not sure how much more I can ask. You can set up alerts and automations with the sensor in Aqara app and home app, showing you only "open" or "close". Connecting them is easy, push the small Botton for 5 seconds and wait to be connected. I recommend this sensor if you already have other Aqara products or need something with Apple HomeKit integration. Note that these sensors won't pair with Ecobee termostats, if you want to turn off the AC when the doors are open, Ecobee makes you buy their own sensors and pay them a monthly fee. If you use the Aqara app, you have access to a chart of when the door was open and closed. In Home App, you can only see if it's opened or closed and an activity history under the Security tap. Pictures attached on how it looks. Overall, I have been very happy with these sensors, great price and they do the job well without requiring battery every few months. Note that this device connects using some radio signal rather than Wifi, so you need a Aqara base, or Aqara camera to use them. The protocol is called Zygbee or something like that.

I considered myself a relatively tech savy person given that one of my hobbies is to test and review the newest tech gadgets. I first learned about Aqara through a friend's recommendation and overall I was very PLEASED and IMPRESSED by the devices' functionality, compatibility, ease of use, and user experience! I purchased Aqara smart starter kit on Amazon, which came with Aqara Hub, Smart Plug, Door and Window Sensor, Motion Sensor, and Wireless Mini Switch (everything you need to start). Installation & Set-up: 5/5 To install, I downloaded the Aqara app and connected the hub to WiFi. The entire set-up process was incredibly easy and intuitive. I was able to get everything running within 5 minutes. Overall, there were fewer steps to follow than some of the other comparable smart home systems I have, and everything started to work immediately. I did not face any issues. Design & Appearance: 5/5 I really like the design of the devices. They all look sleek, clean, and modern. Given that I do not live in a big apartment, it is good that the devices do not take up any space. I barely notice them as they fit and blend right in my home. I was not looking for anything flashy so Aqara devices are perfect! Functionality & Compatibility: 5/5 For the hub, you can customize and change the brightness and color of the light. Each accessary/device comes with a specific function. Everything worked exactly the way I expected; there were no surprises. The most appealing thing to me about Aqara is that I don't need to buy multiple devices from multiple brands to meet my needs. Aqara pretty much has everything I am looking for. It seamless integrates with my Alexa too! Price: 5/5 I bought the starter kit for $129.99, which is extremely attractive relative to other comparable smart home devices! It is hard to beat this price considering the value you get. Overall: 5/5 I gave Aqara five stars because it exceeds my expectations from every aspect! I am very happy about my purchase and I look forward to buying additional Aqara devices!

After spending a few hundred dollars on these door sensors along with water and humidity sensors after seeing the amazing battery life reviews, o picked up a ton of sensors at the prices no one else got near. I then tried to connect to my zigbee network and after minutes, the sensors stopped reporting and just locked up in home assistant zigbee. After getting some tips from other users with the same exact issues, I ended up installing zigbee2MQTT and migrated my entire zigbee network over to it just for the sensors. I mate'd all the sensors, and they seem to be working great. But then I noticed after anywhere from a week to a month, they stopped working locking up and not reporting. I would then rejoin them, and they would work fine again until a week or a month later. On all the home assistant forums, I worked with a bunch of other users playing around with settings and everything else. It turns out Aquara does not follow the zigbee standard. They have their own semi zigbee implementation. And it's probably what they do to save battery life, because the battery life you know the reviews that I saw is months if not years longer than all other brands. But the amount of trouble I've had with these I would gladly replace the batteries every month over dealing with this. And I am not going to attach the Aquara hub to my network, just to connect all the sensors. At this point I am cutting my losses and completely replacing all of the sensors with known good brands. I learned a lesson not to save a buck and just bite the bullet and get something that's known good. Hopefully this helps others. Because if I would have saw reviews like this I would have followed them and stayed off of this brand. I just wish they would fix this and either allow the end user to select to follow the correct zigbee protocol and deal with shorter battery life.

This door and window sensor has been a great addition to the Aqara smart lock system we recently installed. It works really well with the lock and helps ensure the door only locks at the appropriate times. Our previous lock setup didn’t have anything like this, so it would sometimes try to lock even when the door wasn’t fully closed, which was frustrating. I really appreciate the added convenience and smarter functionality this sensor provides. My only minor complaint is that I wish this feature was built directly into the lock itself instead of requiring a separate sensor unit. However, the cost was still reasonable for the extra convenience and peace of mind it adds. Overall, we’ve been very happy with how well it works together with our smart lock setup.

Por ahora se ha conectado muy fácil al hub, tiene buena señal y la mantiene (importante) y sobretodo muy contento con su detector. Detecta a tienpo real si se abre la puerta y lo notifica instantáneamente sin retraso, es justo lo que buscaba para evitar las falsas alarmas, retrasos o desconexiones. También te indica el estado de la pila. Mis 10s por ahora...
