A terrific, simple fun game for all ages!
Scrimish is what people in the board gaming community refer to as a "filler game". The idea is that these are the games that one plays in the small spaces of time between the bigger meatier games. The fact is that while Scrimish fulfills this role admirably, to relegate it to "filler game" status is probably a little unfair. Scrimish is a game that can easily stand on its own. It is easy to learn, quick to play and requires enough strategy and thinking to eliminate any sense that winning can be chalked up to simple dumb luck. The artwork on this special Pillars of Eternity edition of the game adds an extra element that, for fans of that game, will be a real draw. However, even if you are not familiar with the setting, I think that these decks are just a little more fun to play with than the standard Scrimish cards. If you are looking for a fun, simple, quick game that everyone can play and enjoy regardless of age or experience (playing board/card games), Scrimish is an excellent choice.

easy to learn, quick to play, and tons of replay value at a great price
Scrimish is a great little game. I am a schoolteacher and this little game looked like a a nice diversion for students and even an opportunity to teach so I took a chance and backed the first edition of this game on Kickstarter a few years back. it was so good, I backed the second edition kickstarter and another double deck set just recently. It does not disappoint. Scrimish is quick, easy to learn, fun, and filled with a depth of competition and strategy that the small box can barely contain. It's simple to learn also, and the new design, which is being sold here vastly improves the art without changing the excellent gameplay. Also, I have worked with the sellers on two occasions to correct shipping errors and they have always been great.

Casual & quick to play, a good memory challenge for two to four (best with two)
This is a lightweight game that is easy to learn, but requires memory and strategy to play well. It's suitable for a wide age range; I've introduced it to a 5 year-old and a nonagenarian. In my experience, it plays best with two, but the configuration of the decks lets you play with as many as four in a free-for-all, or two teams of two. If you happen to have more than one copy, the number of players is open-ended, but I've never played with more than four so I can't speak to it.Cards feel nice in the hand but will crease if abused. Art on cards is mostly various medieval melee weapons (axes, swords, etc) but nothing I would consider inappropriate.Quick synopsis: each player has a 25 card deck with 20 numbered cards, 4 special cards, and a character card. Build 5 piles of equal height with the character card at the bottom of one. Set the piles face down in front. Alternate turns. On your turn, reveal a card from one of your piles, and indicate one of your opponent's piles. Opponent reveals top card of indicated pile; if your card has a better value, opponent discards his revealed card face-down, and you replace your card; if you lose, you discard face-down; on a tie, both discard; if opponent reveals his character, he is eliminated. There are two kinds of special cards, each deck has two of each: one special card always wins on an attack but always loses on defense, and the other special card always ties on defense but can't attack at all.Superficially, it feels like War with some special rules; but the hidden information mechanic with building the piles combines a bit of poker aspect as well - you can use knowledge of your opponent's habits against them, and because it plays so fast I find it to be very replayable. One star off for middling card quality, it remains a game that can start off any Thursday night game night while you're waiting for stragglers to arrive.

A fun, fun game for kids and adults alike!
The game of Scrimish is a fun, short card game and these decks enhance that experience with concise cards and images that add to the flavour of the game. My 10-year-old son (who doesn't love card games) and I have had a blast with the decks and he's always asking to play some more. I would buy these in a heart-beat as a gift (or a replacement if we play these to death)!

Such a perfect card game for 2 ppl and so addictive and easy to learn I’m interested to see how more players change the dynamic but we play hand after hand

Great for family
I play this game with my husband, 5 year old daughter, and 3 year old son. My kids are able to grasp the concept of the game and it even helps them review which number is greater or less than the other. Then when the kids go to bed, my husband and I play each other with a little more strategy. Great game for quick and simple fun! Also my husband loves PoE so that is a bonus.

Poor packaging
Haven't had a chance to play the game yet, but the rules seem straightforward-- very easy to pick up but with potential for a lot of different strategy. I ordered the Pillars of Eternity 2 pack (4 decks) product (where each deck is associated with a named character), and was disappointed to discover that one crown card in each pack was visibly damaged on the back right out of the box. These are the most important cards in the game, and it's important to be able to hide their location, but they're effectively "marked" to begin with, rendering 2 out of the 4 decks unusable for a fair game. The boxes for the decks seem to be just a bit too small for the decks and rules, so that may have been the source of the problem (it seems like the damage may have occurred where the cards met the inserted bottom flap of the box). Not sure if other versions of the game (i.e., the version with generic crowns) have this same packaging issue, but it's pretty annoying.
