Portable, light weight, quick set-up, perfect for leave-no-trace
I bought this as a gift for my son and friends to use on the beach. I was so impressed, I bought another one for myself. This set folds up easily into a compact zipper carrying back that takes up very little room. As recommended by another reviewer, I purchased a fire-safe mat to go underneath the fire pit so I can use it on my wood deck without worrying about stray embers. Set up and breakdown is surprisingly fast and easy. Pro tip (from another reviewer): hang opposite corners of the heat shield first. Best of all, the 40" square fire pit mat (not-included) fits perfectly inside the collapsed frame in the bag. The only thing that would make this product better is if it came with the fire pit mat. For $20, it makes this portable fire pit suitable for use almost anywhere outdoors. RECOMMENDED

It's served my purpose
Served my purpose. Nothing fancy. Easy to set up. Trickier to clean and pack up. I ended up just saving and reusing the original box. Have camped with it 3 times and it has not let us down.

Compact and sturdy
Fire pit worked great. Grate is a little thin but held up with a decent fire. Very sturdy. I did return it because the bag ripped. We will see how the next one is but I give 5 star for the pit itself

Winning
Absolutely perfect for a small camp kept me and 5 people warm all night easy to break down and clean overall one of the best camping essentials I've purchased in a while

Small
Small and poorly made. I expected it to be small but, once you get it in front of you it seems even smaller than the measurements.

Good firepit
So far I tried it for just one small fire with small sticks and charcoal, but already I like it a lot. I've tried a few other portable fire pits over the years, and so far this is my favorite. It ticks all the boxes for the features I want: collapsible/foldable; affordable price; good air flow from beneath (for efficient burning and reduced smoke); ash catcher below; able to lift the firepit (for relocating / repositioning) by holding then lifting the bottom of the legs (can't do that with many other fire pits); good overall size for a small group of people and solo users; not too heavy for transport (I had another fire pit of similar size and price but twice as heavy). The removable heat shield which doubles as an ash catcher worked nicely, although it can get messy when it's time to dump it out if you're clumsy. I noticed the fabric doesn't seem to be entirely fireproof, as there are tiny spots of slight brownish discoloration after just one use, likely from occasional hot embers that touched it. Some drawbacks that keep it from a perfect score: The ash catcher won't catch all the ashes if you're in a very windy place, so choose your location and positioning well. Also, the four flat panels and the ends of the pole parts are somewhat sharp. Someone else mentioned this in their own review. When I got mine, I used a small metal file to smoothen out the sharp edges of both ends of the four vertical poles, and it helped Mae them safer to touch. When I have time I might do the same for the long edges of the four panels. Nevertheless, I recommend moving slowly and carefully when handling the parts, to avoid accidentally cutting your fingers. Speaking of machining, as some have mentioned the quality control can be a bit wonky. When I got mine, the three mesh panels weren't connected well to each other. There are little cheap circular rings that connect them to each other, but a few of the rings were bent too much into open positions. I had to use pliers to bend the rings into the proper closed positions. Another somewhat "drawback" is that the firepit is not optimized for cooking, so you'd really just use it for making a campfire. It doesn't come with a dedicated cooking rack the way other fire pits do. The official description even states that this fire pit is not meant for cooking. I'm wondering if the fire mesh (upon which the wood lays on) isn't strong enough for very heavy pots of food, or if its prone to melting from very hot coals. I did manage to successfully heat up stew on a small pot using an additional small rack with its own legs (see pic), with some bits of homemade charcoal. The place had a constant breeze so the charcoal got plenty of oxygen to burn hot, yet the metal mesh held up well. The dedicated carrying case is pretty good, although I wish the handles were made of a stronger material. (I had a bad experience with these types of thin fabric handles eventually falling apart, for another fire pit brand.) All that said, it's very tough to find a perfect fire pit. This is my favorite so far for an affordable portable fire pit, but I'll still keep an eye out for new products on the market.

Pleasantly Surprised
This product is perfect for those campsites that don't have a fire ring. It is very portable, packs up to the size of a large shoebox. Very easy to assemble and the ash catcher works great. If you let it cool you can easily empty the ashes and fold up the fire pit in the morning. The only concern I have is the grate that supports the logs could be damaged from the heat generated by the fire. But I have had a size 10 Dutch oven on it and at least a dozen substantial fires. It looks to be constructed well. I would buy another one tomorrow.

Surprised
I've had bad experiences with portable fire pits but needed one for camping at the NASCAR race. I really liked the size of this one but was skeptical of the sturdiness. As evident by the photos, I'm tough on gear. We had 3 substantial fires in this thing and it performed awesome. Was sure that metal grate was going to melt and the fabric ash catcher would burn up but all held strong. Other campers were even impressed and asked where I got it. This fire pit definitely earned a spot on my packing list for the next trip.
