Evercade: Broken Sword Double Pack

Great to be able to play these classics again. I was concerned the exp screen would be too small but it’s fine and obviously much better on the VS. If you’ve played these before you should note these are the NTSC ps1 ports so run faster than our Pal European versions on ps1 do. So it may feel off at first.

BUYER BEWARE! Broken Sword 1 is running far too quickly and Blaze refuse to acknowledge this. The character animations are running at double speed. This makes multiple puzzles with a timed aspect very difficult indeed. Blaze are doubling down, claiming this is how the NTSC version of the game ran. It is not. Yes, NTSC runs slightly quicker than PAL, but not at double speed! This is a known issue with emulating the game, and Blaze haven't fixed this and will not admit there is a problem. I am getting a little fed up with Blaze and Evercade lately, what with bugs like this, severe stock issues meaning many carts are unavailable for months after release, and poor build quality and reliability of carts. Evercade was such a great idea when they started out but quality and value for money has been steadily declining over the last couple of years. Step it up, Blaze, because this is not good enough. UPDATE: Blaze finally acknowledged the issue and patched the game. It runs fine now. This was despite them insisting there were no issues, but at least it's been fixed! Star rating adjusted accordingly.

El cartucho de Broken Sword para Evercade me ha permitido revivir dos de las mejores aventuras gráficas de todos los tiempos. La primera: Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars y la segunda: Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror, dos clásicos del género point-and-click y para para sorpresa de todos en castellano subtitulado. Con este cartucho se mantiene intacta la esencia de los juegos originales, con gráficos fieles y controles adaptados para una experiencia fluida en la consola. Aunque la jugabilidad de un point-and-click se diseñó originalmente para ratón y teclado, la adaptación al esquema de control de Evercade es funcional y permite disfrutar sin problemas de ambos juegos. Una gran compra sin duda para seguir completando la colección.

Great fun if you're into this point and click stuff. Not for everyone. Make sure you keep downloading the wi-fi updates or you'll get stuck in at least one place in the first game.

Pour les nostalgiques, 5 * avec un petit "mais". J'avais fait ce jeu sur PS1, en version PAL soit 25 images par secondes. Il s'agit ici de la version NTSC à 30 images par seconde. Les mouvements des personnages sont plus rapides. Cela rend le jeu un petit peu moins réaliste et un petit peu plus compliqué dans certains cas. Correctif le 8 avril 2025: le bug de vitesse sur broken sword a été corrigé lors de la dernière mise à jour de la console! Donc tout va bien.
