Changing USB to COM Port - Easy Peazy
I read the comments about the COM port and wanted to add this in the mix. My serial device requires a specific COM port to function, how do I change this in Windows?Some serial devices require a specific COM port number to function. In these cases, consult the manual of your serial device to determine the correct number to use.To change the COM port number of a serial device in Device Manager, complete the following:Open the Device Manager by pressing the Windows Key + R. Type “devmgmt.msc” and press Enter.Expand the Ports (COM & LPT) section.Right-click the COM port and select Properties.Click the Port Settings tab and click Advanced.Change the COM port number to an available COM port number.Note: Multiple serial ports cannot share the same COM port number.Restart your computer.Note: Even if you change the COM port number back to the original number, you still need to restart your computer.

Quick ship, arrived as described, works as advertised. HP laptop had all drivers and set up the cable automatic in WINDOWS 10 environment, i then set the port and it was easy, then installed the program and hooked up the 2005 sx230 motors. Awesome to see the hours and sensor data...........

Must pay attention to detail when installing software and configuring device.
Works great once you figure out how to install it properly. If you are not a computer person and don’t know how to use device manager to change settings this could be a challenge to install. Changing USB COM PORT to COM1 is a must for the device to communicate. Not a plug and play device but simple enough if you have good reading comprehension.Great value. Fast shipping. Works great on Windows 10 and my 2013 f115.

Great tool and worked perfectly
This kit was exactly what I needed, came with everything I needed, and worked to my satisfaction. Follow the directions to install software and hardware drivers and it worked perfectly. I have a Yamaha 200 HPDI outboard and I was able to get all info plus more needed. Thanks!

Read applications carefully to make sure you can use it!
Make sure your PC has OS that will run it (had issues trying to load software), also make sure your motor has diagnostic capability (my 2001 F115's are stupid, pretty sure you can use this on '06 and up applications only, I didnt know you can only use the winky-blinky lights on that year). Never used because of this, will probably give to a friend

Easy to use
Everything as described. Detailed how to use, install and assign to proper port for use. Found my issues for a few dollars VS dealers 120 per hour. Worked great with windows 10.

Must have for Yamaha Outboard motor owners
This is a must have for anyone with Yamaha outboard motors. It has already saved me hundreds of dollars and given me a baseline for comparison on my engines. I have twin F250 OB and helped me diagnose a simple problem which cost me $13 dollars to repair. Also I want to thank the seller for getting back to me immediately when the first cable I had did not work properly, then send me a replacement that worked great with my windows 10 lenovo laptop. I would also recommend the service manual for your engines the combination is great.

No good
Worked once, then keeps giving an error. Email the sender, keeps bringing up com port 1. Which it’s in. Said i need a new usb, I asked if it’s the usb extension or the main one. Then we go in circles, and no phone number to call.If i get it running right I will update.
