There are a lot of other things to like about the Calico Critters dollhouse and accessories, including the modular expansion options, the range of little details and the dolls themselves, as well as comparative affordability, good design, and small size (if that's what you want or need, which I did). But I think the top of my list is that it isn't purple or pink, and has no hearts or sparkles.I'm a play therapist, and dolls are an awesome play tool. But there are already enough obstacles for boys to be willing to play with dolls as it is, without color-coding them for girls. It was really important to me to find something more neutral and accessible, and this dollhouse is not only not gender-coded, it's also quite handsome.It's not perfect. Bits of it are fiddly. The second-floor room that opens onto the balcony is too shallow to put furniture in properly and comes off the base much too easily. I finally just stuck it in place with clear packing tape because it kept getting knocked off. Additionally, I feel that if you're going to have a house with a hinge down the middle - which I like - you may as well go the extra step of making it genuinely portable by providing a latch that will hold it closed and some sort of carrying handle. But I'm really happy with it - and out of all the toys I have, it was this dollhouse that the four-year-old boy I saw last week wanted to play with most.

This is a great playtime dollhouse for kids or amazing for adults that are obsessed with Calico Critters. Once I had 2, I wanted 2 family members to have one so I bought them each one. Craftsmanship is beyond amazing sturdy tough materials used yet beautifully crafted. Once you fill it with furniture & critters, you will smile everytime you look at it.

The box was a little damaged when it arrived but overall everything inside seemed okay! So no real complaints. I’ve been wanting to buy this house for awhile now so I’m just glad to have it.

My daughter loved this doll house. It was her birthday present when she turned 4 y.o. Plays with it every day.

The Calico Critters box was not in a shipping box and was beaten and torn. Thankfully the house and parts were fine. That said, there were 3 missing small banister pieces. Between those problems, long wait on call with Customer Service and the fact that they could not get a replacement to me in time for my granddaughters, the C.S. person offered a full refund and said to keep the house. I'm fine with the outcome.

Beautiful little house, my 5yo loves it! (we bought for her birthday) She plays there with calico critters, LOL dolls, "chubby puppies" and even dinosaurs. Even my older son's cars became useful again, they "deliver" guests :-)) We live in the city and we don't have huge apartment, so this size is perfect for us (not very small and not too big). Sturdy, nice colors, definitely recommend to anyone.

The house is cute, easy to put together, and can be put into multiple configurations. The downside is that the different configurations don’t snap together, so if you bump it or move it too quickly things fall apart. But despite the flaws it has brought a lot of enjoyment

Soo cute. Love all the molded details.Stacks well with Sweet Raspberry house and Red Roof cottage. Lots of ways to place. I removed the hinge to the house, so I can move parts around even more.The lights aren't very bright. I added fairylights instead.

I had to buy this product thrice. The first time, everything was great, it came with an outer box, everything worked, except for one mini roof. The slot cut out for it was just not big enough no matter how much I tried. So I returned it due to it being a faulty item. The second time, I didn't even open it, for it was shipped without an outer box. The product itself, being a box, was simply shipped as it is. It's unthinkable for collectors. So I returned it again. Thank goodness the third time it was alright. If you are planning to buy this, find some way to include in the comments (although I couldn't find such a section) or contact customer service before they ship the item out, to ship it with the outer box and not just the item alone. This will help save the hassle of having to return the item and getting a refund and re-ordering it.For the product itself, it has many configurations as shown. Be careful to note which configurations you will be able to do with just the Red Roof Country Home, as some configurations require the Cozy Cottage Starter Home. But overall I would say this is a very good starter set and expansion set alike.

My grand-daughter enjoyed playing with it because she can co-relate it with the sylvanian tv program that she watches. Needed to expand it by adding red roof cozy & sweet raspberry houses.

A little bulky in size but great house to add any Calico critters expansion to. This purchase did not come with any furniture.
