known problem (when I spoke to Silva directly about this); the needed gets stuck periodically- making it useless. Tried a few of these before I found out….all the same problem.

Con..the N S E W letters are written in orange on an orange background so they are very difficult to read. Other parts of the compass are good. It's bulky enough to use with thick gloves. Silva could make a simple fix by writing N S E W in black.

Just one issue: the safety release of the lanyard opens too easily. In order to avoid loosing the compass, I would advise making a knot on the lanyard, just before the release. Otherwise, excellent compass.

Para aquellos de ustedes que están dudando, este es un producto de calidad. Incluso de noche, las señales son claras y tienen buena visibilidad. Pero esto es, por supuesto, para los que van de excursión por la noche. Estoy muy contento con mi compra y lo recomiendo ampliamente. Mi próximo será el nuevo Silva 16 DCL.
