I was so excited about getting a new straightener. I have had my chi for around 8 years and it was great (finally died). I did a TON of research before I decided on this purchase. I had read several reviews regarding the Nume straightener and how it pulled their hair. I figured it was probably just a defective straightener but sure enough, the first time I straightened my hair, it pulled several times. Where the red line goes through the middle of the heating plates, it is actually two pieces on each side of the red light so hair catches on the corners of the actual heating pads. Returning! After spending $130 I would have expected much more from this hair straightener.

I had old GHD that needed to be replaced and I read all the reviews and decided to get this one. I have ALOT of hair and it's wavy, and let's be honest, it doesn't get as silky smooth as if you have straight hair. 1st time I used this it got a bit of static but I used some serum to keep it tame. Next day I used it again and my hair got really straight, but not silky smooth shiny like all the reviews say. I still like it and I also like the fact that it heats up quickly and doesn't ruin your hair due to its technology.

OVERALL: Great straightener!PROS:- Heats up very quickly- Has a temperature display screen- Buttons are on inside to prevent accidently turning off- Has 30 minute turn off just in case you forget to turn off yourself- Capable of single pass- Long swivel cord- No snags- Great for thick hair- Creates other stylesCONS:- I have not found any cons yet! OH.MY. GOD!! Best flat iron EVER!!! I have fine stick straight hair to my shoulders and my hair only holds a curl for a few hours and then they go flat. This iron is the best!!! I curl my hair with it and the next day I still have curls NO KIDDING and that is usually unheard of for my hair. I also use the Memory Mist from Ouai and that helps tremendously too, if u have fine hair that doesn’t hold a curl get this stuff too (sephora)!!! Can’t say enough good things about this iron. I usually use a regular wand iron to curl my hair but heard such good things about this and watched some youtube videos on how to curl your hair with a straight iron and I'm so glad i took the plunge and got the straightener instead of another wand that I didn't need. Also it’s cheaper here on amazon think on NuMe web site this iron is $159.00.

I love this straightener. I am a cosmetologist and proper heat settings are exactly what I need in order to properly straighten someone's hair without burning it. It heats up quickly and the design is sleek and beautiful. The best part of all is that the plates adjust to the thickness of hair and WILL NOT pull the hair(most flat irons pull single strands). Its perfect for what I need it for and actually several of my clients have bought it because I love it so much.

This heats up quickly and gets super hot. It straightens my hair super easy and quickly and takes out all the frizz. I like the display and that it has an auto turn off.

This makes my hair super straight. Not easy to put on less than 450 degrees.

I like it, I dont see a big difference with my other straightener but is a good one. I think a little too overprice though

Works well have been using Nume straighteners for years they are the best and last for years even with daily use. This is the 2nd I've purchased, the first I bought about 8 years ago and it just now wasnt working as well as it did when I first bought it so replaced with this one and am just as happy as I was with the first one.

Very very good.seller package was good.flat iron little smaller than i expected .have very long cord .initially had difficulty with the pin as it was north american and bigger than normal . But thankfully i got one locally easily that fits.on hair flat iron glides smoothly no pulling on hair.very sleek hair with serum only on hair.with 450 degree hair protectsnt not that sleek but i found it best.first time i got beautiful curls than with philips miss freshers.no burning of hair.i liked it very much.must use heat protectant can give you bad frizzy hair as side effect

This flat iron is fantastic! I have very thick, curly hair and straightening it used to take up to 3 hours. Now? 45 mins tops. And that’s when I take breaks.

This is an amazing straightener. I got it almost two years ago and it straightens my wavy/frizzy hair into sleek and straight hair. It also curls my hair beautifully.

It worked beautifully until yesterday, when it overheated at the 370 degree setting. Today tried it again, heated to 370 degrees and it turned off and I noticed that the plates were so hot they separated from the main unit.
