Bought this for my mum as a birthday pressie. The different wools were lovely even has a list to say which sheep they were from. Beautifully presented in a keepsake box with easy to follow instructions for complete beginners. The spindle is well made and the delivery was super speedy. Thank you so much, one 79 year old mum thrilled to bits!

Just the thing for anyone starting to learn the drop spindle. It was nice to have the fleece too. I added another small hook so it can be either a high or low whorl spindle, until I get used to it.

After taking a "taster" spinning class in the summer, I saw this kit and decided to purchase as it was a very reasonable price. It has everything needed to help a beginner improve or to help make up the mind whether to take up spinning as a serious hobby. The instructions were clear enough to me, although the method described was a little different to what was taught in the workshop I attended. However, methods seem to be as individual as the spinner and Google/You Tube will be very helpful for those starting from scratch. The kit itself was beautifully presented in a pretty decorated box (which could be used for storage once the contents have been used) along with a nice little card from the seller. Attention to detail is appreciated by purchasers, believe me. Along with the drop spindle, there are several different types of wool tops in various shades of grey, cream and brown. The only drawback was that they weren't labelled so I wasn't sure from what breed of sheep each had come. The drop spindle is a top whorl, whereas I had previously used a bottom whorl. I later found out that this affects the speed of spin but it's just a matter of getting used to it. I haven't got past the draw and park method yet (and I'm not sure if I will ever become a proficient spinner) but am determined to at least have a serious go at it and maybe end up with sufficient yarn to actually be able to knit/crochet something out of it! All in all, a good purchase.

The spindle in this kit is very good. It's comfortable to hold and use for long periods and allows a very smooth spinning action. I am a complete novice and have failed at most textile related things I have tried, but I was soon able to start spinning and am making good progress. The wool included is just lovely, soft, easy to to work with and utterly beautiful. I would recommend this kit to anyone thinking of taking up spinning. I really can't fault it.

I haven't had a chance to use this yet but the product is gorgeous. It's beautifully packaged and contains everything you need. There was a slight mix up with the content, but the customer service was excellent.

This kit is good value for money. The spindle spins well and is a good size and weight. It would be helpful to have a notch in the whorl though! There is a good amount of lovely fibre to spin but it has not been identified so I do not know what I am spinning. I found the instructions practically useless...so four stars only.

Another great kit from Heidifeathers. the spindle is a bit on the heavy side but not excessively so, this seems to be a common problem with all such kits! Comes with a beautiful selection of natural wool.

What a beautiful kit? The wool from the different sheep is soft and ready to spin. The directions are well written and I found easy to follow. I will definitely look forward to ordering from them again

The wool is quite and soft and clean and the drop spindle is a much better one than i purchased the same day on amazon from another seller. Thank you so much for creating such a nice boxed product :) p.s. for those who don't already know how to use it- there is instructions in the box and you can easily find videos online

Je suis assez satisfaite dans l'ensemble. Sauf que le poids diffère un peu d'un gramme pour certaine pelote. J'aurais aimé trouvé une façon plus claire de différencier les fibres.

It’s a nice basic kit to get started. I do recommend supplementing the instructions provided with YouTube videos. The roving is soft and of a high quality. The spindle is basic, and once I glued the whorl back on, very sturdy. I only reduced a star because whorl came loose and needed to be reattached.
