DRO 3 Axis Digital Readout Display +3pc Glass Linear Scale for CNC Mill Lathe Machine (300+650+800)

I've bought several of these, they are easy to install and easy to use. Amazing how many features there are on these economical DRO's. Bolt circle, find center, and many other features. They are very accurate also.

Surprised at how fast this arrived. Ordered Monday received Saturday with xmas in between. Box arrived ok but hardware bags had split and screws were rattling around in the box. But overall I think packed quite well. No mounting instructions but not too hard to figure out. A dimensional drawing of scales would be nice. Mounted on a Bridgeport so brackets included were of no use to me. You will have to build a bracket or two for y and z just like on an exspensive setup. Fairly nice lightweight covers for the scales made of aluminum extrusion. WIll keep chips out but will get dinged if something hits them. Resolution can be set to either .0002 or 5 decimal places. Mounting arm for the DRO could be a bit longer. If you tighten the DRO brackets pretty good seems ok. So far I like the DRO features. Just like lots of imported stuff the grammer, syntax, and naming conventions in the DRO manual need work but not undechiperable. Unless you must have a name brand I can't see much wrong with the setup.

So far this system works very well, and represents an excellent value. My only complaint is that the packages of scales offered did not exactly fit my requirements. I inquired about replacement scales, but they would need to be ordered from the factory in China. And 2 scales would cost almost as much as the entire system. So I opted to adapt and cut one of them down to size. It is constructed so that it can be disassembled and cut. Not a job for a novice, but a skilled technician could handle it no problem. It is installed and working well so far.

Nice product. Install was challenging, but doable with some creative thought. When ordered, they mention if specified lengths are needed leave message. Instead received over sized lengths as listed per order. Two out of three scales fit perfectly. However, carefully cut/shortened the "Y" by 200mm on a cold cut saw. Worked perfectly and scale too. Happy with the results/product, but not the supplier communications skills.
