The Perfect Upgrade Kit
I'm catching up on a back log of reviews, and I wanted to make absolutely certain I touched on CHPOWER's CR10 to CR10S upgrade kit.CHPOWER has been a phenomenal company to work with, going above and beyond to help support me on several issues I had with the original CR10, in the end I made the decision, based on my experiences with CHPOWER, to just purchase their upgrade kit.Every piece and part in this kit fit perfectly on my CR-10 printer, and effectively upgraded it to the CR-10S platform, in the process it got my BLTouch probe working, as there was no functional firmware to get that probe working on the base CR10. The circuit board was clean and washed, booted up immediately (like other reviewers, update your firmware when you get it) and the steppers and otherwise have performed fantastically.I can't say enough about this kit, or CHPOWER, as both have helped me take a slightly damaged printer and turn it into something that prints professionally, stably, and repeatedly.Thank you so much CHPOWER, and if you were on the fence, get this kit and a BLTouch! It's like getting a brand new printer!

Seems to be okay so far though this seems to be a resold return.
I purchased this before I even setup my CR10 so I don't have a basis of comparison on how it ran before the install. That being said the installation was easy and took less than 20 minutes, including watching the videos in how to replace the parts. I guess doing the upgrade as part of first assembly was the reason for that. Even so it was no big deal at all. I have run 3 test prints and so far so good. I would have rated it 5 star except for 2 things.1) The printer is loud. I thought this would be a more silent board but even after the upgrade it is louder than my ender 3 pro was stock. I can get over the loudness as I didn't really pay attention so if this was a silent board or not when I purchased it.2) The biggest issue is that the couple for the Dual Z-axis motor was shipped with the wrong screw and on top of that it was stripped so I could remove it. The shaft was also slightly bent. It feels like this was a returned unit that was shipped out. I unfortunately didn't notice until after I installed the electronics or I would sent it back so my bad for not doing a more thorough inspection before starting the installation.

Good, but a couple of issues..
I'm hoping these are all genuine parts..I'm getting a very slow board response when using the microsd card screen.Suspiciously slow.Firmware is the latest TH3D marlin. I'm hoping the board is genuine and not a fake. I'd be happy to raise the review stars, but when I asked on here they declined to answer, saying instead to email them.Would love to hear otherwise.*edit*When changing to a 32GB card, it sped up again.. It wasn't liking a 64. Yay. Bumped up a star.

Don't buy if you have the direct wired fans.
I may have just bricked my CR-10, thank you CHPOWER CR-10S upgrade kit.First off, my CR-10 has the directly wired fans, not connector attached. The V2.2 board that came with my kit does not account for that, nor did it come with a spare connector to wire the fans into. So, I decided to test if everything else was working. Nope. With everything connected, minus the fans, I powered on the system. The screen just sat there a blank blue, the board blinked several blue lights and beeped at me, then X and Y axis would start to move back and forth a centimeter or so in each direction. In regards the lights, the four light above the heat sink blink in sequence from left to right. When the third light blinks the light beside heat sink comes on and stay illuminated through the forth light before extinguishing. Then the final light just stays on. The sequence then repeats.Does anyone have any advice? Did I get bad hardware? Any advice will help.

No instructions and bad firmware
It took me 2 days to install this because there are no instructions. I had to cobble together videos and online documentation to install it. The board shipped with corrupted firmware. I just beeped and flashed the lcd screen. I had to reflash the firmware to get it to boot up. Overall the biggest issue is no instructions. Please even provide a link to your instructions. Otherwise, the parts were fine.

Great upgrade. No instructions, but PLENTY of help online
My CR-10 is now identical to the CR-10S. This kit gives you the second z-axis, the updated CR-10S motherboard, screen, filament sensor, wires, etc. Before I started, I took several pictures of the wiring, placement, etc in it's current layout, in case I ran into problems with this upgrade kit and needed return this. There were no instructions, but you can find several videos online showing you placement for new wiring.Somebody mentioned their fan being directly wired instead of having a connector on the end. Mine was that way too, and the online videos will tell you exactly what terminals to attach those wires to.Google and YouTube are your friend. :-)BE SURE TO FLASH NEW BOARD WITH LATEST FIRMWARE, OR YOU WILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM MANY PEOPLE KEEP REPORTING!!!Repetitive beeping, and stepper motors moving back and forth about a centimeter or so.I had the exact same issue, so I flashed the board with the updated firmware and my machine now works flawlessly.

Good & Bad
For me....Good: Cheaper than direct from Creality's web site ($169) & comes with the v2.1 instead of the v2.0 motherboard.Bad: The LCD had the cables installed in the wrong connectors, EXP2 & EXP3 when in fact they need to be in 1 & 2 like what's noted on the motherboard. I should mention that a standard CR10 has only the EXP3 connector. This has the possibility of killing your board if not caught as it did for me. The firmware was in complete potato mode & the kit was missing one of the spacers.Live & Learn
