Very baggy
I suppose it depends on your preference, but I found these to be HUGE. I am 6'2", 185 lbs, and the medium goes just about down to my knees. But the width almost makes them feel dress-like, and the fabric feels heavy with that shiny synthetic feel. I can stand up straight with my legs slightly apart and almost none of the fabric touches my thighs. Personally, I much prefer gym shorts to fit more like soccer shorts — a little slimmer, ending above the knee — so they don't flap around as I move or bunch all the way up to my crotch if I'm doing leg press. Some men will feel differently, but if you like slim-fitting things in general and dislike baggy shorts, you won't like these.

Great fit and quality - and a Great Deal
Love these. 2-layers with outer mesh and an inner lining. Nice deep pockets with openings small enough to keep things from falling out when you're sitting. Probably a 10" inseam, and the elastic waistband is not so tight that it cuts you in half. I've purchased 10 different brands/styles of athletic shorts. I like these best for the reasons above, and they were the cheapest. I ordered 3 pair. They don't have any hi-tech fabric, just polyester. But that doesn't bother me. I sweat on them for 2 hours and throw them in the wash. BTW, I am 5'8", 175 lbs with a 32" waist and 32" inseam. The mediums me right at the knee and hang comfortably on my waist. The legs are a little wide - more like basketball shorts than tennis shorts. They are very lightweight and breathable. The 2 things I love the most - the waistband and pockets. The pockets are large and deep, and the openings are small enough to keep the contents inside when sitting or lying down. Too many shorts have pockets that are not quite long enough and/or have large openings with the results that my ipod and keys wind up on the floor every time I lie down on a bench. Not a problem with these. Second, the waist band is just the right size/tension/strength. Other shorts I own have a very wide and stiff waistband that's about 18" in diameter and pinch my waist really hard. Some guys might like that. I don't. These hang comfortably on my waist and have a drawstring I can cinch up if I have something really heavy in my pockets. The mesh is a little shiny, FYI... Just a great deal on workout shorts.

Line hits at the knees, light material, has pockets ****UPDATE: Love/Hate
I was in the market for a pair of light basketball style shorts that weren't super long. These fit perfectly! The length hit right at the middle of my knee. (As in, if I bent my knee, it slid up my leg - instead of getting caught on my knee, and sliding down my backside.) The material was similar to the basketball style I was looking for (although it was also mesh). It was light and performed well. It looked nice too. I could go either way with pockets in my basketball/workout shorts, but the fact that these had them means they can be lounge shorts - double bonus! *****UPDATE: Love/Hate I loved these shorts (as you can see above). However, after about a month the drawstring popped. I bought another pair and the same thing happened. I used to wear them as work-out shorts, but cannot use them that way anymore without the drawstring. They are SUPER comfy as lounge shorts, but I miss working-out in them. The pocket without the drawstring could get heavy and pull down your shorts. I tried to re-thread with better quality drawstring, but couldn't fully thread the shorts due to material in what waistband (I actually accidentally tore an extra hole trying to thread the shorts). So, yeah... love/hate... but more love.

Good enough to buy two more pair
I was looking for a nice lightweight short for the gym and to wear around the yard. I took a chance on these, but was concerned because of some of the reviews, so I ordered just one pair. However, I like these a lot and just ordered two more. I was between a medium and large on the sizing chart, but went for the medium, which was a good move. A few thought these fit small, but most seemed to think they fit to size or maybe slightly large, and I'm with that camp. My only criticism is that I would have liked for the elastic band to fit a bit more tightly, but on the flip side, they stay up just fine, and they sure are comfy. So as long as they don't loosen up over time, they should be fine. And I am in the camp that thinks the pocket length is just about right. I did some long hikes with a smart phone in the pocket, and it worked just fine. When the second set arrived, I found the overall fit and size is the same, as one would hope, but the elastic is a little tighter on the new ones, so there is clearly a little lot to lot variation. I originally gave this a four star rating, since the first elastic band seemed a little loose, but after using these over the summer, I've got to say these have been a five for me. I wish I had thought to try these years ago. I find they also make a great swimsuit.

nice shorts until the string ripped a few months in.
I ripped the string while putting them on today. i must have not be as delicate as i needed to be. really it shouldn't have ripped, i didn't yank it that hard, it hasn't been under stress, it hasn't been washed for years in high temp water, it was just a bad string. problem is the string is kind of hard-wired into the pants, so i can't pull it out and buy a shoe lace or something.

Doesnt fit well
Doesn't really fit well for me (6'3'' and skinny). They are bit too wide and the pockets are very deep. Too deep actually. If you put anything in them, they swing around too much. The material feels thin but is comfortable. They ride up very easily because they are so thin
