Decent replacement
It works fine, but it doesn’t feel anything like the original. I don’t think it will last as long either but for the money it’s pretty ok.

Works Fine, makes me feel like a kid again
It has been a long time (possibly 19 years?) since I have experienced a brand new n64 stick so I'm not sure what it is "supposed" to feel like but this stick seems fine! It does seem more sensitive than the original stick? But I am able to play Donkey Kong 64 completely fine with it (the aiming always sucked in that game anyways) and Star Wars Rogue one is completely playable as well. The stick seems larger than the original and as others have said, the connector is too large, so prepare to whittle it a little bit with a pocket knife to get it to fit. This stick also seems to have a "break in" where it will feel almost a little grindy at first, it just took about an hour to feel smooth for me.I have tried the Gamecube style sticks before but they just never felt right with Super Smash Bros so this old-style stick was the better option to me.All in all it is serving it's function and I will update this review if I can get my hands on an original "tight" controller to compare it with. I will also update if it breaks in the next 6 months but so far so good.

An ‘OK’ replacement
When unboxing and initially viewing the guts I was unimpressed and about to give it a 5/10 for it’s rigid feel and visibly cheap plastic. The entire casing and all guts feel cheaper than OG. The bowl, wheels, and gears are identical to the parts inside the 3rd party OG-style replacement sticks that have been around for a few years.*The wheels and gears are different size than OG and parts are not interchangeable. The wheels have gaps that are farther apart than OG and the plastic is visibly cheaper/lighter than OG. The stick is slightly thinner at the ball point, so OG sticks will not fit in this casing and these sticks will fit loosely inside of an OG casing.*The gears also have one more “tooth” than OG. If you throw OG gears into this module, the teeth will not reach the wheels far enough to spin them. After testing it out in training mode for maybe 20 mins. or so, I was pleasantly surprised. Still feels a little rigid, but definitely playable. Vid below of me spamming bad ness tech and untrue combos. But at least you can see the stick is definitely playable.Range: Did a range test on emu and here are the results:X: -95 to +89Y: -102 to +88Worries me a little that the range is so different between the negative and positive inputs. This was my factory unused stick range after unboxing it. I wonder if others will experience the same or if they’ll just be inconsistent values from stick to stick. 88 and 89 are awesome but 102 down is a little high...Pros:-Can do most tech with pretty decent consistency-PCB on these sticks looks like an upgrade from prior 3rd party OG-style stick replacements-Pretty cheap ($13)-Easy to change, Z-button seats fine on back of new replacement-“Good range”Cons:-Inconsistent range values-Cheaper/lighter plastic parts are not promising for a long stick life-Same bowl/gears/wheels as prior 3rd party similar replacement sticks-Parts mostly not interchangeable with OG except maybe the bowl-Slightly rigid feel and a little noisy, but not horribleMy overall opinion: 7/10. Giving it 3/5 stars on Amazon since 3.5 isn’t an option.Still worth the $13 IMO. I still prefer to play on my “okay”/light-moderate wear OG sticks for the consistency and feel, but these are fine upgrades if you’re struggling with crappy/worn out sticks.

Easy to Install, Good Sensitivity
I recently found my old N64 and games. Everything was in perfect working condition except for the worn out controller joysticks from the dreaded "Mario Party 1 joystick spin mini-games". They would tilt listlessly to one side and not pick up full inputs for games. I was hesitant about this replacement, since all of the old knockoff controllers struggled to replicate the sensitivity of the OG controller. I.e. if you slightly tilted the joystick on the original controller, Mario would walk slowly vs full tilt he would run. I was pleasantly surprised to find that, after a pretty easy controller teardown and swap, the new joystick seems to be up to par. As others have mentioned, it feels a little stiff/sticky, but I'm able to play games with the nuanced controls of the Nintendo controller. Would recommend and will likely buy for my other original controllers.

If you REALLY need one this may be acceptable.
I just wanted to start by saying that if you really needed a replacement for a controller that is totally defunct (75%+ loose stick) then this will get the job done, but I really recommend you look somewhere else. I bought two of these one from the warehouse and one new. The warehouse one had a real bad "grind" when you pulled down on the stick and that was just totally unacceptable. The "new" one seemed okay, but doing a full "circle" motion with it caused it to grind a bit as well. I ended up returning both of mine.Pros:It's built like the original in a sense that they "look" the same. No boards on the outside. They work.Aren't Overly/Under sensitive.Cons:They feel absolutely cheap. I don't know what's up with these rebuilds but the sticks just don't feel like the originals. They grind. They feel way different than the original. They sound hollow on the snap back (if that makes any sense). It's a tad taller than an original.I just picked up the other option available on Amazon and we'll see where that goes. There are other options out there that will probably be just a bit better. These feel too much like the ones included with the knock-off controllers and no one wants that.

No dead zone, proper sensitivity is there.
I was not expecting this to be as good as it is. With the previous "Gamecube-style" replacement joysticks that used to float around I was not expecting much, but these Optical sticks are really, really good. The sensitivity is there, no giant dead zones like the aforementioned sticks. A fine replacement and worth every penny. 4 stars because it feels a bit rigid but it probably just needs to be broken in. This is an initial impression and I can't say how they hold up over time but I am impressed nonetheless.

Very good
I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good OEM joystick replacement. Could use some joystick butter but over all it is good

Feels rough, I can't believe this passed QA
When I push the stick to one side, it's not smooth at all, but feels rough. Almost like there's sand or something inside it. Going to try to get an exchange, and will update my review based on what happens.UPDATE: Amazon shipped me another stick the next day (nice!). Same problem. The action is not smooth, it's rough, like the plastic parts inside are poorly constructed. Furthermore, this one has uneven resistance depending which direction I press the stick. Additionally, the 8-way groove that the N64 sticks are known for isn't there when pressing in the right direction. Bottom line: a very poor quality replacement part.UPDATE 2: I removed my comment about other GC style controllers working better. This is because GC style controllers have a very different response curve than the original sticks. They are super sensitive in the middle, and they send max tilt signal before you push them all the way, making it very difficult to be precise. This includes the Brawler 64. Personally, I recommend finding a replacement bowl and black axles. Repair box does offer another version (non optical) of this original style of stick, which I haven't tried, but have heard they work. There are also steel bowl replacements (Google it). Lastly, there is a repair method which involves cutting a curved piece of plastic and putting it between the stick and the first black axle, which I've tried and it's helped a ton on old sticks.Good luck. It seems that perfect N64 sticks are a thing of the past, unless you put a bunch of work in..

It does work, but required force.
The Joystick replacement does work. This reproduction contains all the the same parts as the original, but many of the parts of slightly bigger. I hope the slightly bigger size makes them more durable than the original. Unfortunately the connector that connects to the N64 controller motherboard is also slightly bigger than the original. At first I thought the bigger size mean that it was impossible to plug it in. After awhile, I discovered that at the right angle and with enough force, you can make it fit. I am including a picture of the replacement control stick plugged in, as proof I got it to fit.If you want a control stick that is durable and you are willing to fight with it to plug it in, then I would recommend this product. Given the cost, if you do not have nostalgia for the original N64 controller, then I would recommend paying a little bit more to get a Retro Fighters Next Gen N64 Controller.

Perfect replacement for loose n64 analogue sticks.
These are a great way to breath life back into your old n64 controller fits well and works well. I see some reviews saying the connector is bigger and needs to be trimmed, infact when looking at the the original and this replacement joystick connector side by side the replacement is a little thicker however it still fits without hassle you just need to be patient when inserting. gently push it in, if it is really tight you have the alignment wrong.

cable plug is too big to fit and more
First of all i wasn't able to connect the joystick because of the plug was too big, after that if you snap the joystick it decalibrate itself and the joystick will start inputting when joystick not touched. Not recommended.

Vas bien dans certain jeux.(exemple: dans super smash, le bonhomme avance tout seul). Je recommande le joystick de gamecube :) plus chère mais vas super bien.
