Only good until they aren't.
I loved these pedals and purchase a few other pairs of these pedals for my other bikes, as a result. Imagine my surprise, when after using one set for less than 6 months of use, perhaps 3 or 4 times a week for no more than 4 hours total, that one of my pedals broke off at the spindle.Well, I had read Meetlocks' customer satisfaction blurb, prior to my purchase, and felt sure if I emailed them they would respond to me timely, in order to resolve the issue I had. This is something they indicated they would do. It has been 3 business days and I have yet to hear from them.As a result, I cannot recommend Meetlock pedals. A product, no matter how wonderful, is only as valuable as its ability to be utilized as indicated. A broken pedal is not.

bad treads
Although these pedals (MEETLOCKS Bike Pedal Injection Magnesium Alloy) almost destroyed my crank on initial install, I was able to correct the tight thread issue and make them work. They would get a 5 star rating, accept for quality control.I started installing the left pedal on a brand new crank and it git stuck. Ok, my bad. So I checked the other side and it had the same problem. I learned my lesson the first time so I stopped trying to screw it in before it was torqued (like the left side). It took some mussel to get it back out and about 2 treads from the crank came with it. As I was using a hack saw to remove the 7075 aluminum from the pedal's threads I found the problem. Basically the end of the threads on the pedals (yes both) were too narrow. Nothing the hack saw couldn't fix! So now I have them installed, no prob!Ok, here's the issue: threads were cut before the end was stamped? (at least that what I think).Vendors - you should purge these and send then back for the manufacture to fix!

Not Well Built!
Not durable. After about 40 miles of use the left pedal fell apart. It seems this is not an isolated incident based off of other low rating reviews. I returned these pedals for a full refund and will try something else.

Great, Inexpensive Way to Markedly Improve Your Bike
I got these to replace the really pretty underwhelming bear trap pedals that came on my Trek FX2 commuter bike. Their problem was foot slippage, which can be a bit dangerous in traffic when you're trying to power through a light that's turned yellow and is about to go red. These fit the bill nicely. For a modest sum, foot slippage has been eliminated. The pins really stick to my shoes and as far as I can tell, haven't damaged them at all. Those pins, combined with a larger surface area, more practical shape, and more rugged construction, add up to a good buy in my book. Plus, they are attractive. At this point I'm not willing to invest in clipless pedals and special shoes just to improve my 30 minute ride to work. These pedals seem like the next best thing to going that route. As far as installing them goes, if you've never changed your pedals before, be assured it's a cinch. Just keep in mind that the left side (port side, on the opposite side from the chain) is threaded backwards to keep it from unscrewing while you pedal. So to loosen that side, go in the direction that seems like it should be tightening. Also, on many bike a simple 15mm crescent wrench will suffice... just as long as there's clearance for the tool to fit in there. If there isn't enough room for a regular wrench, you'll need an $11 pedal wrench; those are made especially thin to fit in narrow places. To summarize, so far I love these pedals. I'm going to put about 2,500 miles a year on them, so we'll see what they're like in a few hundred miles.

Extremely well made, very light, SUPER GRIPPY, easy to install.
Wow! I just installed these and went for my first ride - I LOVE these pedals. So my Trek Hybrid bike came with standard plastic, cheap pedals. The original pedals were ok of course, they did the job. But I found that sometimes they were just a tad bit too slippery. So I started to shop for replacements. I'm wary of pedals that look like layers of flat aluminum that have been pieced together. I wanted something more solid, more like a big brand like Shimano. So after searching and searching I uncovered these Meetlocks pedals. These come packed in a nice cardboard box, very well protected.I installed these as soon as they arrived. Installation is REALLY easy, just go watch a quick Youtube video and you'll be an expert in no time. REALLY, these are EASY to install. The pedals are MARKED with an L and a R on the pedal (for Left and Right - as pedals ship side specific), so you can immediately tell which side each pedal goes. They don't need any fancy tool to install, a standard open end wrench of the right size will do. An adjustable wrench will most likely be too big to work - they're too wide.Once installed these pedals look great - the picture does not to them justice. Now - riding. The pedals have little "pins" that you can see in the photo. The pins are there to grip your shoes, and grip they do! The grip level is what REALLY SURPRISED me! I don't want to use clip in pedals/shoes, but I did want far more grip - and these pedals GRIP like crazy. My feet feel almost connected to the pedals now. They grip so well if you need to adjust your foot a bit, you need to lift your foot then move it around. THIS IS A GOOD THING!All in all, for a much higher price I'd suggest these pedals. For the PRICE, these are 5 stars - all the way.I'd buy these again, and I'd suggest them to a friend in a heart beat.

Initial impression-- very nice
Purchased to replace original pedals on a 10 year old Trek FX 3 hybrid. Had to take my time and be careful starting the thread but to me this just indicated good quality, close tolerance machining. Out of the box the finish and look is better than expected for the price. Finally got around to trying them this morning for the first time, on a 20-mile ride on mostly level asphalt roads. Good feel and function, definitely an improvement over the OEM pedals. Have to admit I had some reservations after seeing some reviews where the pedals broke or fell apart. They seem so nice right now I have at least some confidence and don't expect them to suddenly disintegrate and leave me stranded somewhere, but if they do I'm going to come back and deduct four stars.

Screw is too wide.
As some other customer has pointed out, the screw seems to be wider than recommended. I tried to force it a little bit and damaged the thread on the bike, even when I hear put plenty of grass on both pieces. Luckily the damage was only slight and I could fit the original pedal again without trouble.I'm going to return these and go for Shimano. They're more expensive but I'm sure they'd fit perfectly.

Badly made
Left hand pedal was quite tight going in to the crank. (greased and using a pedal spanner.) After 6 weeks of light use the crank thread has been completely stripped, the pedal thread is bizarrely still all there and doesn't appear any different. I am still in discussion with the seller about replacing the crank. Right hand pedal was fine.

Not recomended
Poor quality pedals. Didn't last long but at least they served me for some time. My first plastic pedals were way better against these ones.

Good Peddles
Fitting them was a breeze removed the old ones quick clean and grease screwed straight in. Only time will tell how long will there last but look good.

Pedale gebrochen

Avoid!
Bearing size on one of the pedals was not the standard. Almost shredded the thread on the bike trying to remove it.

In meinen Augen lebensgefährlich.
