Karman Healthcare S-2512 Ergo Flight Transport Ultra Lightweight Wheelchair Luxury Seat, 18"

My 69 years old wife has frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and is barely able to walk faster than a slow shuffle. I wanted a transport chair that was sturdy enough to take her on both paved and smooth unpaved bike paths in our neighborhood, as well as maneuver around the hospital when we had appointments. I've been very satisfied with my purchase, and although I worried my wife would resist using it, she appears to like it and says it is very comfortable. She is 5'2" and weighs 105 lbs. so the size is absolutely perfect for her. It is easy to fold and put in the trunk of the car. There are less expensive chairs that are lightweight, but I doubt they are as well constructed or as sturdy as this Karman transport chair.

The large back wheels make this easier to roll than other transfer wheelchairs, although they're not large enough to make it easy for the user to self propel their self. Folds and unfolds easily. Nice padding for comfort. Arms will fit under most tables so you can push the chair close to the table.This chair is significantly more expensive than some other transfer wheelchairs I've seen. But it is very well made and has several desirable features such as the large back wheels side pocket, and short armrests that make it a good choice in spite of the cost.

We have had this transport chair for 3 months now, and it is one of my favorite purchases from Amazon. Our daughter is almost 6 feet tall, so I bought a cushion for the chair to give her just a bit more height for her legs. The chair is more maneuverable than our old wheel chair since it isn’t as wide without the large wheels. It even fits through our narrow bathroom doorways. Loading it into the back of our Highlander is easy because it is so light and fits on its side or upright.

I needed a very lightweight wheelchair to wheel my husband about. I have arthritis and a bad back and right arm. This chair was so lightweight it was no struggle to fold it and put it in the back of the car. It was good for going out to eat since the foot rests could be swung out of the way or removed, and the arms fit close up to the table.

This chair is perfect for our situation. It is lightweight and nicely made. I did a lot of research before choosing this chair. Thanks!

This chair is wonderfully light and rolls beautifully, at least as far as testing inside my home. And the companion brakes seemed to work very well. However, I have returned my chair due to a creaking sound from a rear wheel right out of the box with a person weighing under 120lbs. It is possible that this is a one off problem or perhaps a packing problem with damage in shipping; the box was a bit battered, though still intact. The other wheel made no sound. The fact that a wheel made any sound at all made me wonder how durable these wheels would be, especially when it is checked on an airplane which I do a couple of times each year. I have decided that I will go with solid wheels, even if they are a bit heavier. In addition there seems to be some discrepancies in seat measurements. The Amazon description says the seat is 18x17. The SKU sticker on the chair says this is a S-2512F18S-TP. Perhaps I am measuring in the wrong spot, or perhaps the chair was mismarked as an 18. I found a measurement of 16.75 inches measuring across the front edge of the chair seat including the seat edge rails. Seat depth came to 16 and 1/8th measuring along one side, from the back of the seat to the front edge. The back height did come in at the 17" noted in the spec sheet. Amazon made for a no hassle return.

Wheelchair 18 inch light weight very good chair , but the only thing is that is a little to big for my daughter that weigh 75 pounds I should had get it 16” but they didn’t have it

Great product, light, safe, foldable!! You can transport 2 in a mide size car trunk.
