PitchTracker Baseball Smart Ball, 14-Day Premium Subscription Included

I bought this ball for my son last year on Oct 31st 2020 and it initially performed flawlessly. It was great to be able to show my son how his adjustments made a difference in velocity and spin rate, even without a subscription. There is also something to be said about seeing the data and putting out maximum effort to achieve better results. I also believe seeing the data is important because it helps to keep them motivated and striving to do better with each bullpen.There are some things to learn with getting the ball connected and getting proper readings consistently, but once you throw a few pens it's no problem at all getting it set up. Due to the holidays we didn't get to use it as much as we wanted to, but after the new year we started back up and everything was working great. His pitching coach also has a pocket radar and his numbers were very similar to the ball, with the majority of his pitches recording identical readings or at most varying by only 1-2 mph on occasion.However, earlier this month (May 2021) his ball died during a session when the battery ran out, and when we got home I realized the ball would not charge. No matter what I tried we couldn't get the light to switch to blue on the charger. I then went online and did the online chat with the Diamond Kinetics support page though their website. I was immediately in contact with a representative who tried to help get the ball charging again. When this again failed, he told me to send the ball in and they would try to fix it or replace it with another ball. Even though I was several months out of warranty, they made this offer to me and we were grateful to accept it. I sent the ball in using their shipping label that they emailed to us and figured it would be awhile before we ever saw that ball again. However, the ball just arrived back yesterday and I couldn't believe how fast they got it back to me. It looked like a new ball, complete in the box and ready to go.Due to this I have to give these guys 5 stars. While I wish the original ball didn't die so soon, their customer service made up for it in spades. In the end, I really think they should consider giving the ball a 6 month or even a 1 year warranty instead of the 90 days, especially since they are going above and beyond with their customer service anyway. This would help to prove they are committed to standing behind their products, increase their product's reputation, and most likely increase sales.Great job, Diamond Kinetics! Thanks for the new ball and I hope you guys keep working on your products to make them as durable and accurate as they can be. Highly recommend!

It's not perfect as the connection to my phone get lost sometimes. I'm using an Iphone 6S, so that introduces it's own set of variables.Overall though it's very good.The ball is identical in size, weight, and feel to your standard league ball. I use this for throwing sessions with my 10 year old. He loves the feedback of velocity, spin rate, and spin direction. Especially when he goes from fastball to change-up. Those combined stats really help to understand the effectiveness (or not) of his pitch.It's also easier for me, as I don't have to catch and hold a radar gun to retrieve speeds.We generally warm up with a standard ball, and then go through the progression of different pitches, finishing with a few simulated at bats with the PitchTracker.So far we've just been using it to monitor that given throwing session (no additional charge). You can subscribe to the service to unlock additional features. Storing Bullpen History, storing multiple pitchers, etc.Overall it's a great tool, and very reasonably priced for the data it provides.

We got our pitch tracker a few weeks ago and have loved working with it. We are just using the basic functions right now but look forward to the advanced analytics when the boys get older. We took the ball to practice a few times and it is the hit of the practice. All the pitchers line up one after the other and try to out do the last guy. We created a Horse type game for pitching to try and get in the strike zone. Totally worth the money. We are going to buy these for the other coaches in the league for Christmas.

Purchased this ball on the recommendation of another coach. I was interested in testing the speed and rotation on my sons pitching at the beginning of the season a year and a half ago. I used the ball three times, each time it was difficult to sync and set up “sessions.” Not having the time to mess around with it (managing, or assisting with 3 separate teams) I set it aside. Last fall I picked it back up and it wouldn’t sync, tried charging it and trouble shooting as suggested on their site and by others. I couldn’t get it to get up and running. When I contacted Diamond Kinetics, which was a hassle in itself, only offline messaging back and forth though the app, they gave me all the same answers I had already tried and told me they couldn’t do anything, except give me a discount on the subscription, which I had already paid for a year of. Total waste of money!!! I wouldn’t recommend this product, it’s a novelty and the service is a joke. I don’t feel it would be safe to use the ball for BP.

I purchased this for my 11 yr old son for christmas. I read the reviews and this seemed like the best one out there even though it was pricier. Totally worth the cost. My son and his team mates have thrown the ball at least 100 times hitting back drops deflecting off poles, etc and it's it's held up. I'm always waiting for it to stop communicating but it's been great.

I bought this tool for my son in order to see if his lessons were paying off. The app is pretty easy to navigate and I haven't run into too many connectivity issues. The customer service has been outstanding which is always important with technology. Recommend for anybody who want to track their son/daughter over time!!

The product provides great information when it connects to the phone. Unfortunately, it does not hold a reliable connection and often provides no data. Great idea for a product, but it needs improvement.
