I love this controller and its quality rivals a professional xbox controller. ✅ Wireless is effortless and has great signal. Plug dongle in and you have connection. I have yet to have signal interference. ✅ Analogues are super smooth. ✅ Size is slightly smaller than standard xbox size so it's nice for my person's smaller hands. That said, my big hands get uncomfortable after hours of a marathon gaming session. ✅ The charging dock is underratted. It's so worth having a dedicated docking place so you know where it is and know it's charged. ✅ Charge lasts hours. I've never had it run out of juice, even during a marathon gaming weekend. I'm really enjoying this controller so far but if there are any changes in my opinion or its quality, I'll be sure to report back in. 🤞 I hope you found my notes useful. Be well! ❤️‍🔥

Fantastic controller. Wife loves it! We originally got her an Xbox official controller which we ended up returning because it was defective. This is a big upgrade from the Xbox controller!

Buttons on the back feel weird but you'll get used to it. Feels better and works better than an X-Box controller, worth the price. Simple to set up.

Works great, though it feels like I'm paying a premium for the laziness of charging with a dock instead of a cable when you consider the 2C. It's pretty comfortable, better than wasting the money on another xbox controller that had to be changed yet again for a newer shape/style for newer consoles. It's great being able to plug it into either my PC or my Steam Deck, though I'm not completely sold on the choice of the USB C dongle. The texture on the back is interesting, though I wonder how it will wear down over the years. I also love the purple color, it reminds me of the gamecube, albeit darker and not quite spot on otherwise. It's also oddly heavy, not too heavy but makes it feel solid even if it's almost certainly weights inside. The only downside I can think of is how the dock/controller manage charging, keeping a battery topped off all the time isn't great for it in the long run. So hopefully they chose a battery with that in mind. I could also care less for the RGB lighting stuff, I ended up turning it off after trying it for a little bit... and this is coming from someone with RGB puke all over their PC. All in all it's great, but the 2C is their own huge competition for this, especially since if memory serves it gets better battery life(some other minor differences too)... you're only stuck with the inconvenience of plugging it in to charge and a dongle that cant' sit inside a charging dock.

I really enjoy the design of these controllers. The quality of the controls and buttons is excellent. The ergonomics are fantastic. The connectivity options are plentiful. My favorite feature, however, is the one-port "hub" inside the charging dock. Simply connect the dock to your computer and the controller connects to the receiver inside the dock. If you prefer you can remove the receiver and plug it directly into the computer and not use the dock at all.

I had a cheap $12 Anbernic RP-01 before the 8Bitdo and this blows it out of the water. I can just pick it up out of the dock. Fully charged. It turns itself on and connects immediately. The RP-01 default button mapping combines the Steam Controller menu with a game menu. And that was incredibly annoying. I had to pair it manually half the time. The 8Bitdo has more buttons and the default mapping doesn't overlap a game menu button with a system menu button. I had connection issues with the Anbernic controller. The 8Bitdo has never dropped or done anything weird. It's larger and more comfortable than the Anbernic. You pick it up it connects, it stays connected, and it just works. I was questioning if I could justify buying this since I already had a controller. But it is a night and day difference. This is nearly three times as expensive. But for me completely worth it. I don't have a single complaint from playing on PC. And streaming a game through steam from one PC to another PC. Can't speak on any other use cases. But I love this controller. It looks great when it's sitting in the dock. It's nice that it has a home. But I can still use the dongle to play on my laptop. It's perfect.

Don't do it. At first, I LOVED this controller. It felt great in my hands, it responded perfectly for what I was using it for, it looked fantastic, the RGB was amazing, over all I thought this was the perfect controller for me. Then it started having an issue. I would turn it on, and it would make the connection sound, and the Ultimate 2 software would detect the controller; however, neither Windows nor Steam would. I did some Googling and found a workaround that if I hold down the B button while it is powering up, that would launch it in 'native' mode, and that would allow it to work correctly. Never before had I had to do this to get it to connect correctly. I tried different cables, didn't USB ports, everything I could to fix the problem and nothing worked. Finally I reached out to their customer support team, and that's where things went downhill DRASTICALLY. I had to repeat my problem multiple times; they would respond by asking me to check it on different controller status websites and the like, asked my to both upgrade and downgrade the firmware in the controller and the dongle, and none of that worked. Finally, after all of this, they said that it obviously wasn't a problem with the controller, but with Windows and it's drivers, even though I had double checked those to make sure they were correct. They said if I paid, I could send the controller back and they would either fix it or send out a replacement. So after less than six months, their product failed, and they expected me to pay to ship it back to them to replace it. So if you buy this, just be aware that if anything goes wrong, you will be paying more money to correct it.

I love this controller. The ability to change the L n R trigger buttons to be like the nintendo switch controller is PERFECT for hack n slash games. I'm playing Ninja Gaiden 4 with this controller and oh my. It feels great. It's wireless never disconnects and there isn't any latency, seriously! for games like Ninja Gaiden, your timing and inputs matter. The sticks feel great, the cross pad is sturdy and has a click feeling to it. Great controller, it's my favorite. I'm no longer using my xbox series x controller for PC. This is my 'go to' from now on. 8bitdo release high quality products.

It needs a special cable iPad C port to the USB port and then the USB port to the joystick Bluetooth dongle.

Best quality, colors, and the base is awesome. LEDs look cool on the joysticks, and a fraction of the Xbox or PS5 controllers
