Needs improvement, confusing setup
I really like the idea of a good separate thermostat from an electric heater. Most electric heaters have a poor quality thermostat; or if they have a digital thermostat, it looses the setting when the electricity goes out. Ick.This thermostat is almost perfect, but it has some very frustrating imperfections. (Frankly, if there was better competition I'd rate it 3 instead of 4 stars.)Here are the reasons why I rated this 4 instead of 5 stars:- Instruction manual is difficult to read and has grammatical errors.- Defaults to celcius, and changing it to farenhiet is very difficult.- Switching between heating and cooling is very difficult- The hole for the screw for wall mounting is so tiny that I had to use a jewelry screw. The thermostat sits poorly on the wall

WORKS GREAT, but you NEED this USER MANUAL, and it's FREE
The User Manual that comes with this thermostat is very poor, but go to the following website to get a really good one: https://fccid.io/2AOIJOPS100/User-Manual/User-manual-3690933 Just print the first 2 (3) pages and you will have an excellent User Manual and in fairly large print.ALSO, do this first AFTER syncing/coding/pairing the remote and plug-in thermostat unit: 1. Turn to off position. 2. Hold on+ and off- buttons at the bottom at the same time. 3. Then it gives you the option for F or C. Press the on+ or off- button to select which one you want. 4. press both buttons again and it asks you AC mode or Heat mode; you can press the on+ or off- button to select which one you want. 5. Press both buttons again and it's done with the programming. Then use the directions from the sheets you printed. It sounds complicated but it is actually pretty easy, and it works. For your information there are 5 lights (mode display) at the top of the remote that can be on, but usually only 2 will be on at any one time. They are ON, OFF, Heat (looks like a flame), Cool AC (looks like a round snowflake), and the low battery warning light that might be lit on the right side of the other 2 that are on.There are 3 other thermostats that look and work the same and are sold using Amazon, but this seems to be the only one that has a 3 year warranty instead of 1 year. And it does work GREAT!

Works good
This works quite well and the temp is within a degree accurate with mine. took one star away because instructions are very poor but it's not too hard once you figure it out. Remember to pair this device you have to hold it over the other plug in unit when plugging it in, else it may not pair. Here are the steps to program if your having a hard time with it. 1. Turn to off position. 2. Hold on and off buttons at the same time. 3. Then it gives you option for F or C. press the on or off button to select which one you want. 4. press both buttons again and it asks you AC mode or Heat mode you can press the on or off button to select which one you want. 5. press both buttons again and it's out of the programming. Then just select the temp you want with the - and + signs.

Great little device...
I'm using this device with a AC unit that doesn't have a thermostat. My girlfriend has had this window mounted AC unit for a long time. The unfortunate part about this bedroom AC unit is it runs all night long and ends up drying me out by the morning time. I used the Teseton Wireless Thermostat to adjust temp. The remote is across the room set for 76 degrees. I use a wifi smartplug to control the unit with Alexa and remote/schedule and the thermostat is used to keep the temp. They work well in harmony. The thermostat polls the remote once every 20 seconds or so. The set-up is very rudimentary. These particular "non-smart" devices are not smart but they do what they need to do for a cost effective price. The menu system is a big kluge which kind of sucks. I have a Sensibo thermostat in my living room which is brilliant and uses wireless controls and application support. This thermostat emulates about 80-90% of that ability when it is coupled with a wifi smartplug. The Sensibo was $119! This device with a wifi is about $50!A lot less money for an ALMOST as smart device... When coupled with applications like IFTT you can create some interesting capabilities like GPS auto-on geofencing, scheduling, etc.

Great and cheap device.
I bought this for a space heater, and I just got a second for a second such heater. it is particularly useful in drafty areas that are hard to set for temperature. I should probably only give it 4.5 stars because the item is hard to set up, but five stars it is. The directions are hard to follow and confusing i expect translated and not very well. The hardest is trying to get the device to read in Fahrenheit. But the second time around it was faster. i have wanted such devises for years, but did not want to lay out large sums to achieve the results that these babies give. I have not tried using a timer on them yet but i expect it would work, because the link between the two units is very efficient and fast.

Great gadget for the price.
I read through the questions posted on Amazon before reviewing this gadget. ( in hopes I could hit the highlights appropriately). This gadget controls a heater or fan or any appliance you want to keep at a set temperature. ( within a couple degrees), it doesn’t allow a scheduled operation. I have mine on a space heater in the bedroom to avoid heating the whole house at night. It works as advertised. I set for 73 and around 71 the heater comes on heats to 75 and turns off. I used a separate programmable WiFi switch for scheduling but found it wasn’t necessary for my application. The batteries last quite a while. I put them in jan31 and they are still going on March 15. Without showing low battery. This works well for just about anything you plug itto the wall outlet . It is just a switched relay . It doesn’t care what you put on it as long as it doesn’t exceed 15 amps. I bought another one for my son and he loves it. The temperature sensor is in the remote unit with the display. Blow into the vent holes on the back of remote and watch the sensed temperature change.most refrigerated appliances have a cycle time wait sensor to keep the compressor from coming on until 3 minutes have lapsed. The device is accurate enough that the temperature doesn’t drift. A bargain at 23 bucks .
