As a perfectionist, I always wanted to have a symmetrical beard and finding a good barber esp when you are travelling is not easy. I tried several bear shapers, and so far Aberlite is my most favorite because (1) the plastic is clear: so you can see what you are doing. (2) Thin edge: Whether you use razor or a machine to shape your beard, it is important for the shaper to have a think smooth edge to give you that perfect cut. OItherwise, as the razor or shaving machine reaches the beard shaper, the bump between the shaper and your face wont allow you to get a close clean cut and the lines wont look as smart and sharp. (3) Learning curve: all beard shapers have a steep learning curve, meaning it takes some time for you to learn how to use them and this brand is no different. Good thing about them is that you can go to their website and watch the videos. Do not expect to learn using it the first time or on the go. Takes practice. Watch...Practice (Repeat 5 times) to get good at this. (4) Does not have a comb: do not buy a beard shaper that has a beard comb. If you want to comb your beard, then buy a beard comb, brush and oil set. Same way that you cannot expect your microwave to also wash dishes, you should not expect your shaper to have a comb.

I wish these had been around while I was still working as a barber. I have a good eye for balance but this would have been a great tool for demonstrating the various shapes.I have used it on myself and was very pleased with the results. I feel like it’s the first time in a while that everything was balanced, not always easy to do freehand on yourself.With the white pencil, it’s easy to draw you shape. I would recommend trimming any hair that will be above the shaper tool so you can get a clean line with the pencil.As a former barber of 32 years I can recommend this product 100%.

I'm honestly not sure how I went so long without thinking to buy one of these. This is such a great product for beard grooming. You don't realize how scruffy your beard looks until you use one of these. I use the "step cut - straight" side for my beard. That's what I used in the pictures as well.The great thing about this is I not only can straighten up my beard line on my cheeks, but I also can straighten up my sideburns/back of my jaw, too. Another good thing about this product is you can also use it on your throat/upper neck.I don't have to worry about cutting too far up my neck or trying to get the hairline straight there, either. I just hold this thing up to my neck and shave around it. It's great.

I’m still on a learning curve with this and find (probably as most others will) that the right and left side of the face are not mirror images of each other! The contour of the cut lines have to be fiddled with. That being said, I’m a first timer with a beard, since I spent many years in the military. Some days I’m impatient for more growth to fill in and the scraggly look. Will revisit review as time passes. The pencil does help confirm the trim line placement.

I have used other shaping tools and I always struggled with maneuvering the tool as I am trimming my hair line. This is the only tool out there that covers the whole side of your face so you do not have to move it once you placed it for your desired line, this allows less room for error and why i love this tool. You can also use it for your hairline and other styles. It is even great for corners on your chin and sideburns so you can really be able to curve out a perfect line that is unique and sharp.

I'd been reasonably satisfied with similar products but when I saw this I figured it was worth a try.Absolutely worth it!The larger size prevents the guide from sliding and also makes seeing the whole process that much easier.

Nice sturdy guide to shape your facial hair. If you are like me it is next to impossible to get a consistent edge around your beard. My biggest issue is under my chin. This tool makes it easy to get the look I want. The pencil is a nice addition which really makes it convenient to trim without the guide.Customer service is great as well. Highly recommended and your wife or girl friend will appreciate it as well!

I have purchased beard lineup tools before. I have to say that this is the best one yet. It is large so that it makes working with it easier, it comes with a white face pencil so you can mark your face one side at a time and really compare to two sides before it is too late.We all know what happens when one side is off... our beards get thinner and thinner.It comes with great directions and you can honestly use every side of the tool based on what style you like.I would highly recommend buying this.
