I got a panel tach that came with a magnetic pick up. I made sure to match specs (npn no) same as that one and used this instead. It works brilliantly! Best part is I use it for indoor blower speeds and you don't even have to paint the blower metal black. Just stick on the reflective tape and go! I verified accuracy with a quality tool and it is spot on, only off by .4 rpms when at 180. I have used it up to 1100 rpms and it's able to go much higher. The whole project cost me like $30.00 as I used a transformer I had kicking around and a metal box to put the components and display in, as well as a power cord.

Worked better than a more expensive sensor on DIY dust level sensor. I made a level sensor on my Oneida dust deputy that sits on my festool vacuum. This sensor was perfect. I was able to adjust the distance to the 4" I needed with room to adjust closer or farther. My gamble paid off and I purchased 2 more for spare parts just in case.

I need it to be more adjustable. It reads the belt and I need it to read a 15 mm part on top of the belt. So it will not work for my application. When I tried to get it to work I must have turned it to far. Now it will not turn off. So I will order a brand that makes one for close. I need inches of adjusting not feet. My bad for not changing metric to standard.

The accuracy was great on lighter colored objects but not so much on darker.

Like several other recent reviews, I too used this proximity sensor in a DIY project. In my case, to create a low cost dust collector bin monitor. It is well made and works just as described. Only time will tell how long it lasts.

We have the Cottinch Automatic Chicken Coop Door and the sensor for reversing the door if a chicken is in the opening failed. This Taiss sensor is a different part number than the original, but it functions properly. The automatic door is back in operation.

Worked as advertised for approximately 3 months following which it no longer responded accurately. Currently requires frequent adjustment to maintain consistent occupancy detection.
