TubShroom and SinkShroom Drain Protectors Hair Catchers for Bathtubs and Sinks, Gray

You can read online where the bottoms of these turn black after a period, and people have tried soaking in vinegar, in baking soda, in Clorox, ad nauseam to "clean" the black off -- it seems to be a "stain" that nothing removes. Wife got tired of the heavy black pigment on the old one, so bought a new one. Now, we clean it after every shower and dry it with a hair drier, set it on the side of the bathtub and put back in before each shower, and there is no turning black. The one for the sink, on the other hand, we just leave alone, and after a bit (I'd say a couple months now), it is turning black. These come out very simply, go in very simply, AND they work to collect hair and, for us, have prevented drains clogging. For that reason, we'll keep using them rather than have to chemically treat our shower and sink drains to unclog them.

We'd had a blockage in our pipes that had to be unclogged by a plumber. I wanted to try to prevent that from happening again and so I found the tubshroom online. I love this product! It fit easily into my tub drain and it works very well. It catches hair before it goes down the drain and it's easy to clean. Why hadn't I purchased this earlier?

These are remarkably easy to install, and take out (to clean them) You remove your old stopper, and slide these in. They catch hair and whatnot, but they pull out easily, and the silicone body of the trap makes it easy to collect up the would be clog, and dispose of it.If you have long hair, or pets, these are worth their weight in gold.

Easy installation, just remove drain plug then insert. Catches everything easy to clean brilliant design.

Trying to keep long hair from clogging the drains, and I’m trying a number of different products. Was disappointed with this one. There are other versions of the shrooms I think work well. The stainless steel sink shroom addresses many of the flaws of this one, the main one being that no matter how you try to insert it, it won’t sit in the sink straight, hence the one star on easy to install. It’s not that putting it in the drain is hard at all, it just won’t sit level no matter how you manipulate it. The stainless steel version has different removable adapters for different drain sizes and sits nice and flush in the drain. The tub one in this combo pack does fit level in my drain but seems to impede water flow more so than other drain catchers. It does filter the hair, but being silicone it’s a little harder to remove the hair because it doesn’t slide easily off. Again, not as much problem with the stainless steel. I’d return this set, except it does work, just not nearly as well as others.

We are a family with long hair, and these work great! This is the longest I’ve gone without having to drain weasel! The hair will collect around the center and pulls off easy, I use a piece of paper towel to grab it and toss it. Easy peasy!

I installed this product in my tub and works fantastic. Collects all the hair and easy to pull from drain, clean and reinstall. Made of a soft flexible rubber. Save tons of money if u happen to call a plumber to clear your drain.

I got these devices based off previous reviews. We needed something that would prevent hair getting into the drain. We use the smaller size in the shower and the larger size in the bathroom sink. Both work well. However, I do find that the small one in the shower is slower to drain away water (a few minutes post shower), and as it stick out a little you can bump it while showering. Both are really minor issues for us. A few times a week I check both and remove any hair etc that has been caught. The design is really good and the chrome look onto makes it a stylish accessory in the bathroom.
