Mystery Club (Mr. Wolf's Class #2)

Just finished reading this to my six-year-old and almost-four-year-old boys. The 6yo spontaneously clapped when we got to the end. We all loved it.Like the first in the series, it kind of seems like nothing is happening, but the art and the flow of the conversation hook you in and, before you realize it, you're immersed in a really well-plotted story based on really sensitive observations of kids (and grown ups). This second book really drew both kids in with the mysteries and their resolution.The background story of the rats in the series also just really tickles my kids. Our copy of the first book in the series is dog-eared because they have pored over all the pages looking for the details that crack them up (rat skeletons, mostly)...Seems cheesy to say that this series is a delight but it really is. I feel like elementary-school kids don't often get stuff that doesn't talk down to them, resort to really basic toilet humor all the time, or rely on just beautiful pictures. It's a tough age to write for, maybe. But this series so far is a real treat. It's the kind of book you'll be giving your friends' kids and nieces and nephews for the next decade or so.

Graphic novel - funny and full of bits of information -- Did you know that Taco Cat was a palindrome? Know any others - Dad, Mom, Bob, ... Those who loved the Dav Pilkey DogMan series will LOVE Mr. Wolf and his classful of school children. Great reading - Great fun. Great bits of new information to ponder -- Any 2nd-5th grade reader will love reading/sharing this series. Awesome reading. Get all the books in the series.

We started reading this series when my son was a bit younger than 3 years old. Even at that age, he loved these books. Great appeal to both girls and boys, pretty wholesome, and fun.

Great book, but the reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because there is one student in the book with 2 mommies. While this may not offend everyone, I want people to know that it's in there in case you don't want your child reading a book with gay characters. My son is 9 years old and he noticed it. But he loves this book series.

I picked up a Mr Wolf book at Walmart last year at Christmas as it seemed the kind of thing my then 9 year old son would like - I'm constantly trying to encourage reading of any sort as he's more interested in things with screens.When he sat down and started to read this after all the Christmas excitement was done, he kept on going and read the whole thing cover to cover in one sitting pretty much - he loved it!I checked and was delighted to find there were 3 more books in the series - so I picked those up for him as well. He's read them all, cover to cover numerous times and has in fact kept going back to them as well which is a pretty good recommendation in my eyes, especially with a kid who struggles with reading and books in general.Highly recommended, we now can't wait for book #5 to come out!

Comic book style. A great book for kids who aren't into reading.

My young reader devoured this second book in the series. Wonderful illustrations and story line. Buy the whole three book series!
