Steel wool has many uses
I bought this in case there was another toilet paper shortage. I figured I could wipe and then rinse it out and let it dry and being steel it would pretty much last a lifetime. I chose the variety pack and it is summer and corn on the cob season where I live so if needed I would have the larger gauge steel pad to start with and then work my way down to the finer pads to finish off. I figured I better try out my plan, not gonna lie it was a bit scratchy but I got through it. I started with single 0 and worked my way to 000. Rinsed it out and let it dry. I used it all week and noticed it looked a little brown red but figured I had not done a thorough job rinsing so swisher it before using again. My backside was starting to get a little raw but I persevered with my experiment for the week. I noticed that I was a bit run down and feverish the next week and was worried I might be getting sick so went to urgent care, they said i had tetanus and quizzed me on my last shot and then tried to figure out how i got it as I had not stepped on a nail or cut my self on a rusty can. They asked what had changed about my routine and I told them about my steel wool experiment. That is how I found out that steel wool rusts when it gets wet. I always thought iron rusted but steel doesn't. Turns out I should have gotten stainless steel wool for my experiment. I got some antibiotics and am feeling better and waiting g for the scabs on my backside to heal before I try it again with stainless steel wool.

Thank you for a good product.
Using this to stuff large cracks in a very old house before I try to caulk the crack. I unroll it and use a screwdriver (flat tip) to stuff it into the crack. Slows down the mice. Thank you for a good product.

What do you want? It's steel wool
I don't want to pay a lot for steel wool and I didn't. I wanted the steel wool to ship to my house within a week and it did. If I need steel wool again, I will buy this one again. Hard to make a steel wool review interesting. I'm glad I'm not in advertising.

Not pads, strips
It's steel wool so there's not a whole lot to differentiate it from other steel wool products. The reason I gave it two stars is that the package and ad CLEARLY say "steel wool pads" but mine was a giant folded strip of steel wool. There are serration marks where I imagine I'm supposed to rip them apart, but just ripping with my hands doesn't seem to do anything as the steel wool is super concentrated at those points making it more difficult to rip. It's very messy to try to get a workable amount of steel wool. I ended up grabbing my tin snips from the garage to cut it into usable pieces. It's VERY messy, steel wool powder and bits EVERYWHERE no matter what method I use. I'm not a huge fan of this product.

Removes everything
These are amazing! They really take off the gunk, the burnt, grease, old stuck on food, the stains off everything. I love them! They don’t Scratch my pots or stove top either, which I was very worried about, they do a great job. Highly recommend them.

just what I needed
the variety pack was very handy. The pads last so its good to have a couple of each and as you use them you can gradually go to a finer grit. Now it seems like the pads break apart and after I use it I have a bunch of steel strands laying around. But the finish comes out great

Would but this for use with paint stripper on wood and to remove rust from chrome wheels.
Awesome for cleaning chrome wheels. Went from looking like this (photo 1) to this (photo 2) not finished yet. Two different wheels but virtually same condition.

Adequate
Pretty good value for what you get. Pad did degrade a bit more than expected when used. Given what i was using it for it wasn't an issue but the tiny shards that break off would be a problem for your use, you may want to look at another product.

too many small pieces falling off the wool
I bought this steel wool to clean my Staub cast iron pot, it did not work. Too many little strands falling off, you need to wear gloves and an apron to use it. If you don't wear gloves, the little pieces may cut your hand; and without an apron, the little pieces will get onto your clothes easily. Additionally, it discoloured my pot. This may work for other surfaces in your garage, but definitely not good to use in your kitchen.

Good for guitar/bass fretboards
Bought these for cleaning the fret boards (rosewood) on my bass guitars. Used with a wood cleaning oil. Worked perfectly.
