Siwode Xian Dragen style
My katana came in great condition, there was no damage to the packaging. My blade was well oiled and sharp beyond my expectations. Everything is tight there is no scuffs or markings the saya is in perfect condition. The quality stands way above the price for $100 you’d think it would just barely be metal and fitting be loose but yet siwode has exceeded my expectations and it weighs and feels like the real deal. The katana itself is beautiful you can tell they put heart into the craftsmanship. I would just like to say thank you for forging such great swords

Worth the $$$
Very pleasantly surprised with this katana. Very sharp out of the box. Well packed in a cool looking box. Well put together, everything fits right & is tight. Decent quality blade, even laser etched with manufacturers name & serial number. Nice sheath with a snug fit. Cast suba with brass fittings. It has taken some abuse & is still tight and sharp. Given some of the junk swords out there right now, this is a good sword at a great price. I was particularly drawn to the color. In person it didn't disappoint amd really pops. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality, low priced katana. Thanks.

Siwode quality
Like other Siwode katanas in my collection this one has the same quality in craftsmanship and detail, real same, well wrapped and spaced ito tsuka, thick sageo of the saya with nice gloss paint, 1060 polished blade. Siwode katanas for the price are a real bargin and i,m sure I well buy more in the future because one can never have enough swords. Buy em, you'll like em!!!!!!!!!!......

Real Review
Ok, So the blade is actually 28.5 inches long, And the tsuka is 11.1 inches long, Everything is as it looks, EXCEPT! The color, The pictures of the full katana have the Tsuka ito looking more yellow, And the saya a dark orange, In fact the tsuka is more of a golden orange, And the saya is a lot brighter in real life, Its almost identical to the tsuka, Other then that its exactly as pictured. The fittings are as pictured, Although the tsuba doesnt match the fushi/kashira.menuki, As most of there blades dont match like that, Although they should(Just another personal opinion) Mekugis were fine diamond wrap shapes were fine, Great quality overall, Definetly not a $1000 dollar katana, But definitely worth more then $300 id say, One big thing i did notice about the blade, Was its polish, I brought a Siwode blade last year too, And that was a stand out polish, Fantastic, This ones wasnt, Theres really nothing about the actual blade that stands out though, Other then overall good quality and orange looks, I did expect more from the polish, I am a bit dissapointed in that. The wrap is tight, The samegawa is good quality, And also has bigger nodes then my last Siwode, The tsuka is nice n thin(Which i love) The saya and tsuka along with the fittings have no damage at all, The blade has a few blemishes, But only if you shine a light on it, A little polishing will do the trick, The sageo is the nice n thick type(Although they could have used the black with white spot type rather then just black)Its sori curve is about 2.0cm as opposed to the normal 1.8cm, Not much difference but i can notice it, The kissaki is fine, Although the overal size is a bit small for my taste, I prefer the big tips like the Cold Steel Katanas have, But thats just a personal opinion, Id also say its a few ounces lighter then your typical katana, Overall id give it a 4.5 outta 5, Why not a full 5? 3 reasons, 1, The picture isnt what it 'Really' looks like, 2, The slight blemishes, 3 The blades polish and slightly skinny looks are quite average, Specially comparing it to the last Siwode i purchased which had an amazing polish, Plain and a 2 tone(Dark upper with a mirror lower)It did come packaged Really nice though9Although they should get rid of those corny anime samurai boxes it comes in..) Not a huge deal though, Came in nicely wrapped thick Styrofoam, And wrapped again in plastic, Then the handle was wrapped in a tick tough plastic(Which i love) And the whole box was wrapped in plastic, Very nice job on that, Although sending a katanas hould come with a sword bag just cause.I got mine on black friday cause thats usually the best for deals, Itsa shame Siwode only had 2 swords on sale, And they took of less then last year....A shame, If they had like 40% off on all there swords on black friday, They would have sold ALOT more, I know i would have brought prolly 3 more, Siwode i hope your listening. Also, You should think about different sizes with your blades, Hate it when all katanas are the same standard size, Makes every seller practically the same, How bout a 28.5 inch blade and a 13 inch tsuka? Or a 23 inch blade and a 12 inch tsuka? Having different sizes would also have a bigger and better impact on your sales. So would i recommend?.......Yes, The blades ive gotten were great, And on sale too, One of the best things though, Is the tight fit of the blade in the saya, And No rattle when you shake it( Cant say that about ALOT of companys) There quality control seems quite good.

Well worth the price!
Well worth the price! Comparable to the $300 swords on Kult of Athena, for half the price. I have had no problems with this sword and I might even buy another one! Even though the ishime saya is most likely plastic it has lasted me very long, with barely any chips, held the blade in tightly. The tsuba is the cheapest thing on this sword but it does its job well and looks amazing.10/10 would suggest this sword to someone just starting to collect real but budgeted Japanese swords. I would give more than 5 stars if possible.

Would recommend to anyone except an actual master!
First thing! I'm no master or metal worker! This is way better than I thought it would be! If they told me it was 1000$i wouldn't be surprised. Beautiful, sturdy, sharp and just awesome. Watermelon, apple, water bottles, just cuts like butter. The minute I can talk my wife into it, I will order a couple more. Would love to replace all the pictures hanging in my house with swords! At this price for value I might be able to!

Beautiful and well made
Looks just like pictures, I will be displaying this sword in my house, but it is sharp I'd say it would cut what ever it was swung at. Very well made, and solid. Mine didn't come in a box, but it was encased Styrofoam & taped really good 👍
