Short Best Before Date
Short Best Before Date, 3 months till the end from receiving,,,It isn’t dangerous to take an expired vitamin, but it may be a waste of time — and money — if it has lost its potency.I would prefer to receive supplements with a minimum of 6 months best before date. Its 2 capsules a day - 1 month supply10 Benefits of Bitter Melon:Good for1. Type II Diabetes. Some studies have shown that bitter melon lowers blood sugar through increased metabolism of glucose.2. Kidney Stones. A kidney stone is an extremely painful medical condition. Bitter melon can be helpful in ridding the body of kidney stones through naturally breaking them down. Bitter melon reduces high acid that help produce painful kidney stones.3. Lower Cholesterol. Reducing cholesterol significantly reduces heart attack, heart disease, and stroke. The added benefit is that bitter melon is completely natural in working with the body to prevent these health risks.4. Pancreatic Cancer. One of the most surprising health benefits of bitter melon is its anti-cancer properties. Bitter melon has been shown to disrupt the production of glucose, potentially inhibiting the growth of pancreatic cancer cells.5. Skin Benefits. Taken regularly, bitter melon is said to have a “glowing” effect on the skin and is helpful in treating acne, psoriasis, and eczema.6. Weight Loss. The same properties that aid against Type II Diabetes also assist in health weigh loss and maintenance.7. Liver Tonic. Cirrhosis of the liver, hepatitis, and constipation may be relieved with a bitter melon liver tonic.8. Carbohydrate Digestion. This is a very important benefit for those who have Type II Diabetes. Carbohydrates turn to sugar, and bitter melon metabolizes the sugars. Faster metabolism of carbohydrates means that less fat is stored in the body which leads to weight loss, and healthy weight maintenance. Proper carbohydrate digestion also aids in muscle growth and development.9. Vitamin-K Source. Vitamin-K contributes to bone health, blood-clotting, and is an anti-inflammatory. Those suffering from arthritis can experience lower pain and inflammation in the joints through increasing Vitamin-K.10. Increased Immunity. A healthy immune system is vital for fending off potential infections and diseases.Overall happy with this supplement and will finish taking it before best before date, but anyway I prefer longer shelf life products. Thanks for reading my review, I hope you found it helpful

Hard to review properly as sent with too-short shelf life.
I wanted to try this to see if they could help speed up weight loss. Like many people, I have put on a few pounds during lockdown which I want to shift as quickly as possible. I’ve gone back to swimming since the gym has reopened but if this can help I thought why not give it a go, as I have none of the listed contraindications or pre-existing conditions that make this supplement dangerous to take (diabetes being one of those). It is essential so that you do your own research and check for any drugs you may be taking will not interact with this or any other supplement.I have received several different supplements from Swanson in the past and have always been very happy with their quality. I think that disappointed me most about these tablets is that – as I noticed another reviewer has commented on – they have a ridiculously short best before date. I receive these at the beginning of August but they are best before the end of the month (see photo). Perhaps this is because I will send these as a trial but I would suggest that if you do decide to buy these, i.e. check the best before date on receipt. I am sure the seller will refund if there is a problem or send out a replacement. As I’ve only had them a couple of weeks and I need to use them before the end of the month, I won’t be able to give you a long-term review of their effect, and I can’t yet say whether they are speeding up my weight loss – they maybe though. What I can say is that the capsules are easy to take and they have had no adverse effects on my digestive system and no bitter aftertaste. Like many capsules, the shell is made from gelatin so this would not be suitable for vegans or strict vegetarians.

Easy to take
These are easy to swallow, but the real question is do they work? I got them originally to see if they'd help with weight loss. Here's the problem I have. I've put on weight because I've been eating too much during the whole lockdown thing. I can't tell whether I'd have put on more weight without these tablets. I'd need to be much more disciplined and eliminate as many variables as possible to be sure of the efficacy of these.I can say I've had no side effects and the pack I got had suitable expiry date, unlike some other reviewers.I have felt good while taking them, but I haven't lost any weight so I don't think I can give 5 stars when I don't know for sure exactly how well they work.

Bitter melon/gourd, Karela Capsules to help regulate blood glucose
Ok so why do people use this? It’s said to help to regulate your blood sugar. As well as reducing absorption of sugar in the intestine. My other half has been on a health kick trying to find this supplement in regular health stores (only found something labelled as Karela extract in Indian shops)They swear by them in the subcontinent and it comes in either juice, cooked or capsule formSince I’ve actually tasted this “fruit” before, there was no way I was going take any type unless it addressed the bitternessI’ve tried other brands of this before and it had a pretty yucky smell when you opened the bottleSo it was a pleasant surprise to find that there wasn’t that smell emanating from theseThe actual capsule size is larger than a standard tablet but nowhere near as big as those cod liver oil type ones that feel like you’re trying to swallow a mini sub 😄I’m going to keep an eye on how they do over the next month and update if they workedThe only downside for now is that the capsules use gelatin and aren’t suitable for vegetarians (so that rules out her taking them)Would definitely get an extra star for a veggie versionHope this helps you out if you’re thinking of getting these
