Best boots I ever had
I had been browsing the internet for about 2 years looking for a good pair of boots that would just look great with jeans or slacks, and these looked perfect. I ordered them in my normal size which was an 8.5, but it was a half size too big. Once I got the next size down they fit fine. Warning, it took about 3 weeks to break these in though. But I walk about 4 miles a day in them comfortably with no issues. Also I get complimented wearing these on a regular basis. They are just the perfect style, not to flashy and chunky like biker boots, not too western like cowboy boots, not too bulky and attention-drawing like combat boots. They are very tough too, I wore these in the snow and hiking no problem, they are also sturdy and stable to work in, like where I work there is a lot of gravel that can puncture through cheap shoes. Only thing I had to have done to them was get a cobbler to put new soles on because I wore the old ones out! If it is going to be very wet where you are, make sure you coat them in mink oil about once a week or the leather will dry out.

I Had to Buy These.
I've never owned cowboy-style boots but I saw these on the CAT website and had to buy them. At first I couldn't find a US retailer UNTIL I looked here on Amazon. These boots are, dare I say, "SEXY". They fit true to size and they're comfortable for cowboy-style boots. The tread has better grip than expected. The leather is soft and hasn't stained yet. Bought them in peanut brown but I like them so much I may get`em in black.*After wearing them 2-3 times a week for almost 2 years the tread's on the sole & heel have worn down flat but the rest of the shoe, w/ occasional cleaning & oiling, has held up really well. The leather is still soft and the sole has yet to separate even a bit. I nailed some store bought rubber sole pads to the heel & sole so they should be stomping around for a while.

Not exactly how it looks in person
It's a cute boot overall, but when I got it, there's a big wrinkle a few inches back from the tip of the boot (if you do a search for this boot online, you should see what I'm talking about). Didn't like that wrinkle at all, but kept the boot. So far it's okay, the toe of the boot does shoot up quite a bit though, to the point it can be pretty uncomfortable at times (can't wear it all the time or my big toe joint starts hurting) and It's a bit heavy too. But overall it's a good boot. Good quality and easy to put on, just a tad bit uncomfortable and that big wrinkle on it hurts how it looks.

Fit and wrinkle in the boot
I have to preface this review by stating that I've not yet worn these boots on a regular basis yet. The boots do not fit right. I usually wear size 13 in athletic shoes and most boots I get a size 12. For whatever reason boots usually seem to be a bit larger. I ordered a size 12 thinking that boots will usually be larger and they were too small. So if you usually size boots the way I do you may want to order your regular size. The other thing about these boots, and I think others have mentioned this, there is a relatively large wrinkle in on top of the boot. It doesn't bother me, as I think most of my boot cut jeans will cover the wrinkle. You may look for other pictures on the internet to see if this will wrinkle bug you.I exchanged these boots for a size 13 and I'm looking forward to wearing them. They are nice looks boots. Good luck.

Good looking but just ok fit
Like the looks of this boot even though it wasn't my first choice. I have small feet so had to settle for this boot but still like the looks of it. Like the buckle on the heel. Not the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. Feet were sore after the first day even with double socks. Didn't find it incredibly uncomfortable when wearing it though so I think the cushion and insole is just a little thin. Maybe a good pair of insoles will solve that. Runs about a half size too big hence the double socks to make it feel a little better. No return label was sent with the boots so don't want to go through the hassle of returning them. Got a blister on the outside of my right ankle from being rubbed in one spot by the right boot. Left one seems ok so far. Maybe when they are broke in that will go away. Overall nice boots but would try to find a smaller size.

Great Boots
I received my pair of Caterpillar Vinsons about a week ago and so far, I am very pleased. The boots look to be constructed very well and ought to hold up well to normal use. The overall fit is true to size; however, the toe box runs a little tight at first--which really should be expected with these type of boots--but after a good breaking in they do begin to conform to the foot. As far as the color goes, it was not true to the stock photos. The Peanut coloring is much lighter than the pictures show; the toe of the boot is much darker than the rest which, in my opinion, makes for a strange color scheme. This problem was solved, however, when I put on some leather protector and conditioner. The whole boot took on a very uniform and rich brown, with which I am very happy! The boots also have a dimple in the leather on the vamp. This isn't really a negative, but I was not expecting it and so it should be made known. Overall, the Vinsons are very comfortable and I have received many complements so far. Definitely recommend!
