Gootium Canvas Sling Bag - Chest Pack Shoulder Backpack

This is a great carrying case. However, it is not for everyone. If you are like me and need a place to carry a wallet, phone, keys, small flashlight, phone charger, and sunglasses, then you are looking at a great satchel. If you ponder for a moment and realize you need to also add a liter water bottle and an ipad- this is not the bag for you. You force a small waterbottle in the satchel with all the items I listed, but I find it loses its appear.The construction is great and most its components don't feel cheap. There is a fairly deep pouch on the outside and a small strap that clips on a D-ring. This strap can hold a light jacket. The adjustable shoulder strap can clip on one of three D-rings on the bottom of the bag (you can see two of the metal D-rings from the image. The third D-ring is in the middle which I never use. I recommend selecting a shoulder to wear it and use the side clip that corresponds to that purpose- if you where it on your right shoulder, clip it on the left D-ring (facing the front of the satchel). It lays better on your back and easier to slide the bag to your side to open it.I have two concerns with this satchel. The first- if you look at the main image, you will see the adjustable strap wraps around the D-ring on the very top. After some use, the strap will twist causing you spend time untwisting and flattening out the strap. My solution was to use a dress tie clip- clipping the strap near the top D-ring. This is now a non-issue.The second concern is the inside of the satchel. When you open the satchel, there is a small sleeve pocket. It really is underwhelming. No clip for keys, no secure pouch for a phone. The pocket doesn't even have a velcro flap to prevent items from sliding out. When I take the satchel off, I toss it on a table, car seat or desk. Things don't usually stay in that top pouch. I ended up using bobby pins to hold a key ring clip and another small case that hangs over the small sleeve pouch. This keeps items from falling out. I don't want to spend time fishing the bottom of the bag, so these fixes worked for me. Overall, I really like the satchel.

I was very impressed with the quality of this product. I was not expecting it to feel so rugged. I own the Khaki version and am considering ordering the Green version as well. One of my favorite parts of the build is the leather on the bottom. That thick layer gave me confidence setting the pack down on rough terrain. If it were the canvas, I'd worry a bit. Not that there is anything wrong with the canvas this bag is made out of. In fact, I think its just the right weight/feel. My other favorite thing about it is the outer pocket. The way the leather handle latches over the pocket is just perfect for quick access to my Stanley Flask :DHighly recommended if you're looking for a small, but rugged (and still nice looking) pack for day hikes or whatever.-brokefoot

I've had this bag for a free months now and it goes everywhere with me. Its heavy construction makes it very durable. The handle on top actually unhooks from the bag so you can fit larger items into it. The smaller pocket on the front can also hold a surprising amount of stuff as well. The strap is also high quality with different points top hook it to so you van wear it on your back, chest, side, or just carry it. All in all this is great for all your bag needs.

I think this is a great bag for what it is, it can carry my cell phone, wallet, ipod and maybe a few small knick knacks and a waterbottle in the outer pocket. With the one zip pocket being a smaller pocket I do wish the outer pocket had the option of zipping for when i just want to carry a wee bit more. However the outer pocket i wouldnt put valuables in since it isnt actually enclosed. In that case I transfer over the junk to a larger messenger bag, but for a light stroll where I could go minimal with just a wee extra this is a good bag. As far as looks go its great, practical use and smell (i still dont know what that is) is where I gave it the four stars.Update 9/12/13Back no longer smells, it is holding up well. I primarily use it to hold my wallet, ipod, samsung galaxy table II in the zipper pocket and usually gum and tissue in the outer pouch pocket. Like before if i want to carry anything major I still use my messenger bag but if im just going to a coffee shop to relax and dink around on my tablet or generally about it works great.

Superb product - highest quality materials, heavy weight canvas and real leather. Very well finished with first class stitching. If they made a larger version I would also buy that without hesitation. I recommend treating the leather areas with Renapur leather balsam or similar products such as Sheraton leather balsam. For those that require a fully waterproof pack it can easily be treated with a water repellent spray, for example Scotchgard.

Doesn't get any better. Amazing quality canvas and leather, really stylish and still very practical and comfortable. Unusual and tasteful too which you only get with designer. This bag is a keeper and I'm sure will be adorning me for years as the quality is really that good. Very happy with purchase. I LOVE IT.

Just back from Italy with this as my day bag - solidly made and holds all my cameras, phones, pens passports and a Samsung 8.9inch tablet (but no bigger!) in the main zipped pocket. Outer pouch would also hold small water bottle if main pocket not too stuffed.

Useful if traveling, and has a good length of strap. Strap has 3 useful clip on positions to feel secure on body. neutral colour, I am focussing on a female perspective though.

I really liked this bag but it was far too small to carry a passport with cover case / wallet / travel money / sunglasses / cigs / lighter / iPhone / other wise I would have kept it great looking bag ,

The bag I received is a little smaller than it appears in graphic but it is functional and very well made.

Nicht sonderlich groß, aber irgendwie doch geräumig - das bringt diese gut sitzende Schultertasche mit sich. Für mich einfach unentbehrlich, da Hände frei und die Tasche aber doch mehr oder weniger an ihrem Platz bleibt und nicht - wie so viele dieser Bags, bei der kleinsten bewegung nach vorne rutscht. Das Material ist robust, die Lederabsätze funktional und schön. Klare Kaufempfehlung.

Ich habe die Tasche hauptsächlich für den Auslandsurlaub gekauft und da hat sie gute Dienste verrichtet. Sieht auch definitiv besser aus als ein Bauchtasche und es geht auch mehr rein.
