Gary Poppins Popcorn - Gourmet Handcrafted Flavored Popcorn - Caramel Cheddar, 1 Gallon Tin

I originally discovered this popcorn via Dean and Deluca. It was adored by all in our family and the little 6oz bag went quick. So I ordered the 1 gallon tin. Also went by too quick. I decided that the 2 gallon tin works best for our family. It's eaten fast enough to not get stale but not so fast that we don't all get a chance to enjoy this popcorn. Plus the empty tin is useful for other purposes.Be forewarned, this is a decadent treat that has great cheese flavor and great mouth-feel but if you're looking for any level of health or nutrition this isn't the popcorn for you.FYI: This review is for their Cheesy Popcorn. I tried a sampler pack of their other flavors and, other than Honey-Mustard, they were all mostly "meh."

We love the Gary Poppins popcorn, but the batch in the 2 Gallon tin was really stale when we got it. Also, the tin wasn't dented which may have contributed to the staleness. We will probably stick with the bags, for they may have a better seal.

Very tasty but very overpriced.

I was hesitant to buy this popcorn -- even tho' it was half price on Warehouse Deals -- after reading all the negative reviews. Wondered how Gary Poppins managed to stay in business with such a lousy product. But the urge for Chicago style popcorn overcame my doubts and I'm glad it did because the popcorn I got is excellent. First of all, the can was securely taped, so nothing could spill out. And the popcorn was separated with a 3-way divider. The cheese corn is very rich, cheddary, caramel not overly sweet, but the best is the buttered sea-salt. Very crisp, goes well with the caramel for "salted caramel" style corn. And no hulls sticking in the teeth so far! Maybe this company has improved recently?

This was probably the worst thing I've ever purchased on Amazon. I've had good "Chicago style" popcorn from different places and was hoping this would be a great place to order from. Let me say for almost $40.00 a gallon for this substandard chewy popcorn, I feel completely ripped off. When I opened the tin, everything was packed so tight that it was one solid block. As you work your way down, you realize that the whole kernels were only at the top and below it's nothing but tiny little fragments of popcorn that are so mixed together that you can't differentiate between the caramel and cheese. I am attaching a picture to show you. Maybe this was a fluke, but it's one mistake I wish I could take back and I will never give them the chance to take me for my money again. Everything about it screamed sitting in a warehouse for a long time.

Bought this for my 90 year old dad and he loved it.

Gave this to my brother for his birthday. He is the "popcorn man" and he knows good popcorn when he eats it. He said by far this was the best cheddar cheese corn he ever ate. Each piece was covered with the cheesy goodness we all love in cheese corn. You will forget the rest when you've tried the best!
