Aquarium Pharmaceuticals, API, MARS Fishcare Gh and Kh Test Kit

This is an essential test kit for fish keeping as it will determined the general hardness and carbonate hardness in the water. I use ro water for my fresh water tanks which gives the pure form of water. Then I mix general hardness enhancing solution like seachem equilibrium or seachem replenish to make water with desired gh level. Then I use seachem alkaline buffer and acid buffer accordingly to maintain the proper carbonate hardness and ph for the specific species tank I'm using the water. This kit comes handy in checking the final gh and kh levels before adding the water in the tanks..

Works as expected. The results have to be counted in drops of the solution added to the water and wait for color change. The chart comparison provided is in degrees, instead of drops counted. There might be a bit of confusion at first, but its not that difficult to understand. Very costly but i guess that's what you need to pay to know the water quality with such accuracy and also there aren't many options either.

It is a must have kit for aquarists. One star less for no plastic box to keep the kit safe and plastic test tubes, not glass test tube. A little pricey.

first time reviewing product on amazon. good product expiry data is till 2019. Works brilliant and easy to use. Pakaging should be better. Nothing damaged.

The API test kit is great ... but giving 3 stars because I received an opened box pack without the test documentation or instruction manual. Had to fig out on the internet how to get it working .... could have retured the kit but was on a schedule to complet my aquarium, hence decided against the return. Expiry date is also only about a year and hence it definetly shows its an old pack. Please check my pics as it clearly shows that the package was opened and cellotaped before sending to me. Pay for a new pack and this is what we get!

Purchased the API KhAnd Gh test kit. KH works fine but Gh doesn’t work. I tried testing Gh from different water sources. But even after 40+ drops colour doesn’t change for any of the water sources. Please don’t purchase this product. Instead get your water checked at nearby laboratories.
