Cool Vest Personal Cooling, 59 Degrees for 2.5 hours 8 Cool Packs, Recharge in 30 Minutes

2025 GA has been HOT. We do lots of disaster relief work with Samaritan's Purse. This vest has been a super coolant for my husband while he chainsaws trees, hauls debris and limbs, and works in the southern heat and humidity. EZ to "cool" again in an ice chest w ice and cold water. Fits well and ez to wear as you work. We give it an A++++.

I work in a manufacturing setting as a press operator and although my company has rented a 40 ton capacity air conditioning unit the production floor still gets so hot that it is evident that people are on the verge of heat prostration- you can see it by the red faces and stress as they move at a slower pace than usual. In my corner of the building the heat builds up so much on 90°F days that the press electrical cabinet sometimes fails in what is actually about 120°F to 125°F ambient temperatures. Last Friday I actually got sick from the heat and I decided to do something about it by ordering this cooling vest. I was especially impressed with the fact that the gel packs freeze at 59°F in 20 minutes if they are submerged in ice water. A fully re-charged set of gel packs do not feel like ice cubes but the cooling sensation is strong enough to weather the hottest and most humid conditions. It cools off your core effectively, allowing you to have a clear mind while moving at an aggressive pace throughout the shift. However, you must plan in advance how you will recharge your gel packs! You will want to change them out every 2 to 3 hours. I bring a Play- mate cooler with me to work stocked with big blocks of ice which I make using Rubbermaid containers in my downstairs freezer. It holds water bottles and my gel packs. On a brutal night working nine hour shifts this cooling vest will increase your productivity and comfort exponentially. I highly recommend it for anyone who is working in misery because of the heat! Consider it an investment in your health and both mental and physical power. The garment and gel packs are of excellent, top-notch quality.

The GlacierTech cooling vest is a nice addition to my outdoor equipment. I rated it four stars instead of five because of the length of time the cooling lasts. In 100 degree weather it lasts about an hour and 15 minutes. Also the eight cooling packs are two sets of different sizes. One set has four sections and the other has three. I don't understand the three unless it is for a child. I use the three section packs inside my hat so all is not lost.The refreeze time only takes between 15 and 30 minutes. This accommodates a quick turnaround for usage. Another benefit is the adjustable velcro straps which allow for different size individuals. I have found that when first putting on the vest a loose fitting is best. As the packets begin to defrost adjustments to the velcro to bring the vest closer to your body prolongs the cooling.The GlacierTech vest is a little pricier than others but I believe it was worth the additional cost. The liquid inside is not water and I'm assuming it is a proprietary substance that seems to be cutting edge technology. I would definitely recommend this product.

10/10 it works . I use for it construction here in Phoenix Arizona where it’s 108 degrees sometimes 113 . This definitely helps prevent heat exhaustion , it lasts depending if you are in shade that’s the catch . I bought another set of just ice packs and keep my ice cooler with my and swap out packs every 1.5 hours . This system works for me all day long no problem at all. In my opinion this is primarily made to prevent heat exhaustion not keep you completely cool , if it’s hot outside your still going to feel hot but your going to able to last longer outside for sure . Don’t forget a cooling hat or bandana , pair it with that and you can beat any heat .

Does exactly what it says. Only reason I gave it a 3 is because one of my cooling packs leaked from 2 chambers so I had to dispose of that cooling pack.

The idea was a really good idea however the vest is made out of a solid fabric which is hot. So it counteracts the fact that there's ice packs in it and is still extremely hot and unfortunately not cooling me. If this was made out of Annette fabric with just net mesh it would probably work great! For now I'll just put ice packs in my pockets and a wet bandana on my head. I also can put ice in a bandana and wrap it around my neck that works better than this! Returning after one day unfortunately

This vest WILL NOT whisk you away to an air conditioned room... It will keep your core temperature down, reduce sweating a bit, not completely, increase energy levels in the heat, and reduce the chance of heat related illnesses.The cool packs are a bit bulky until the melt down a little. Single pack in each pocket (4) lasts about an hour (a bit more) in 90*F heat, and keeps your core cool to the touch.In hot and humid conditions there is condensation, so they’re not a bone dry solution, but a lot drier than an evaporative vest.The weight (they are not feather light) Is well distributed over your shoulders, and very comfortable. Putting ALL the cooling pads in makes the vest a little bulky, but not unwearable, and still allows for a wide range of motion.Folks with long torsos will find this rides a little higher than you’d expect, but it’s cooling your core, not your belt.I can comment on durability as I’ve only had it for a month, but it gets used 6.5 hours a day 5 days a week, and show no signs of stitching coming undone.This isn’t a very cheap solution to surviving heat, but it is effective. Just don’t expect miracles... Expect a cooler body core, which reduces stress on your body, and especially your heart.

110 degrees in Miami; I don’t leave home without it. Good for 2 1/2 hours, and a true life saver. Only improvement might be a pocket.
