APC Surge Protector Power Strip with USB Ports, P12U2, 4320 Joule, 12 Outlet Surge Protector

I bought two of these a few months ago; one to replace an old surge protector that probably wasn't protecting anything anymore, and an additional one to plug in other items that are grouped close together in the same general area of the living room in my house. These surge protectors are working great. I like the wall mounting feature, though I haven't hung mine up yet. The green light around the edges is nice. It's like a miniature night light in the room which keeps me from stubbing my toes on anything near it if I get up at night and walk past it, but even better, the light lets you know that the surge protector is functioning properly. The USB ports are also a great feature. I use these every day for both my personal and work phones. While they don't charge as fast as the rapid charger that came with my Samsung phone, they're faster than most phone chargers you'll find at Walmart or other stores. I'm so glad I bought these surge protectors and plan to buy more. It's nice to know that my computers, monitors and other electronic devices are protected by electrical surges. One thing I noticed today is that the price of this item has gone up by five dollars apiece since I bought mine a few months ago.

Got this as a replacement for a surge protector that was more than a decade old, because this one was recommended by a website as the best surge protector. After recent storms in my area knocked out my power a few times, I realized I should probably replace it before I find out the hard way that it reached the end of its life. Couldn't afford a UPS that would handle my computer's wattage, so I instead went with this. Wanted the 12 outlet, but since it was sold out, I went with 10 since I can't see myself hooking up anything more than that. First impressions? It works. The build quality is solid. All the ports I've tried work just fine. I have a desktop PC, two monitors, a desk lamp, and a docked Nintendo Switch hooked up to it currently, and power delivers to all of them with no issue. Really can't say much more about this. It works, and it will probably work for you too.Also, I don't know why other reviewers are annoyed with the light. Personally, I have the protector underneath my desk and the light does not bother me. I can maybe see it being an issue if you had it in a more prominent location or have eyes that are sensitive to light, but I barely notice it. Plus, it's great to have a prominent indicator to reassure me that the thing is working.

So it basically sacrifices itself to save your equipment. I like the spacing of the outlets and the cord seems to be just long enough without being too long. I even called the company to see what actions we would need to take if, for some reason, the surge protector failed. They are so confident in their product (that it will work until it necessarily "sacrifices" itself), they have a lifetime warranty and do not require going through all the hoops that most other companies require. Based on my experience, however, it's always best to keep receipts just in case. An excellent product overall.
