Hold Power Button for 20 Seconds Before Use!
The picture instruction that came with the product DID NOT explain this clearly... had to go to the manufacturer's website for the English manual, which says, "IMPORTANT: BEFORE FIRST USE Get out of Demo Mode by pressing and holding on the top button for 10 seconds"The single button operation is somewhat frustrating, since the line between "press" and "hold" is very fine. I end up cycling to the red and party mode by mistake every time I try to dim the light. The party mode should be removed altogether, it's just a useless and annoying feature in a practical camping or blackout situation.I must say it does fulfill the product description though, very bright and lightweight.

You NEED this!
This was originally purchased for home use in case of power outages. So far, it’s been great for everything! It’s not as harsh as my Coleman lantern and a heck of a lot lighter.I’ve used it as additional lighting when cleaning out my basement and garage; it lays flat or on an angle using the kickstand unlike my flashlight which likes to roll down the driveway. This charges easily in my house simply by placing it on the ledge of the window. However the family dog kept barking at the flashing light whilst charging (on USB) so I turned it upside down and covered it with a thick T-shirt.I don’t mind that it doesn’t come with a micro USB cable because I purchased 2 Goal Zero Crush Lights that came with cables which works just fine. The rubber (or silicone) tab which covers the port is a bit small and awkward; I feel it might break sooner depending on how often I charge it.Also, the micro USB cable also matters; the Amazon cable I purchased is awesome but too wide.It would be perfect if it the same ‘hinge’ type attachment that covers the micro USB port was the same as the Crush Light’s.The BioLite Sunlight is brighter than the Goal Zero Crush Light; my husband loves the party mode (it became his new toy) so I purchased 4 more! It’s a lightweight, portable and versatile source of light.I will be stashing one at the back of my SUV and the rest will be in our ‘go-bags’ after we ‘experiment’ on how to add it to Christmas/Halloween lighting. Along with the Crush Light, we will be purchasing more for gifts.Currently (March 2021), the BioLite website has a 4-pack on sale for $71.80 (sorry, Amazon); the 4-pack contains 2-teal and 2-grey.The hubby just bought his own 4-pack so go buy yours!

Great little light
This is a great light for camping. Was able to recharge in the sun within the day. I will say I mostly use the red light to avoid effecting my night vision and to be cuteous to other campers, but when you turn the light off it flashes with either a green, ryellow, or red light to signal the battery power which is very bright.

Fast, timely delivery and priced right at $19.99 during Prime days
BE PATIENT: Charge the product in sunlight immediately and READ the directions before operating!! I have always been intrigued with Biolite, their company mission and initial stove product. I decided to give one of Biolite"s products a try and started with this solar powered lantern. Very excited to receive it and, I am sure, like most people, hit the "on" switch immediately only to find the lantern would cycle through the various mood lighting modes and then immediately turn off. Based on previous reviews, thought the product was faulty. Repeated several times with same outcome, so naturally pulled the directions, read them to find that the lantern was in "display" mode and that you have to hold the "on" button down for minimum of 10-seconds to "reset". Interestingly, the first few times it did not work and did not "reset" the lantern, but on my final attempt before setting up a return with Amazon, it reset and worked perfectly and continues to work perfectly. The point of my review, BE PATIENT and CHARGE the lantern in the sun for the full 7-hours the directions claim it takes to get approximately the 50-hours of use and ensure you hold the button down for a full 10-seconds and the lantern "cycles" as my "one-thousand-one" count to ten must have not been long enough. A cool product and I recommend. For Biolite, placing a removable sticker over the "on" button to "Charge and hold down on button" or "Read directions first" would save customer frustration during the most exciting time of opening the package upon delivery:)

Good, multi-functional light.
I've used the light off-grid/boondock camping for 1yr now & my only minor issue with it is that it takes forever for it to charge from the sun. However, it charges SUPER QUICK from a USB; this is its saving grace in my opinion. Also, I use ALL of its many lighting options like the red for night reading while stealth camping. It's flow through the rainbow colors is wonderful when I set it in my faux fireplace (a nice mood/nightlight that runs for about 25-30 min. on a full charge.) I'd definitely buy it again. 4 out of 5 stars just for the frustrating solar charge issue.

Solar recharge is great!
Love the recharge-ability!The light it puts out is great but the double flash (we call lightning storm) when you turn it off SUCKS!! So bright.

Worthy light with great features
I use solar lights on my sailboat to keep the load on my house bank batteries to a minimum. As such, I've tried all the various brands of solar lights with some successes and some dismal failures. After 2 weeks of use, I'd say these BioLite products are pretty impressive. The light is bright, they charge rapidly, and they are definitely light weight. The best feature is that you can change colors which is a big plus when trying to preserve night vision. Another feature is that they "report" their charge status by flashing when you turn them off so no more guessing what's let for power. They also flash when charging so you know when they're getting solar energy. So far so good; enough that I'm ordering a few more.

Bonne petite lampe

Tiny
Seems to work okay but is half the size advertised, only 8cm square. There were a couple recent deaths in our family and I was distracted, or I definitely would’ve returned it. For the size it is seriously overpriced.

Good for an emergency
Neat design and love the solar feature. Just wish it was 100 more lm because it isn’t that bright. Good for an emergency

Rechargeable travel/camping light
This travel light is not extremely bright but gives enough light in a variety of colours and lasts several hours in the night time. It's nice and small and can be held in the palm of your hand and you can also adjust the brightness with one button.

Great Light
The light is compact and bright. I like that you can dim it and/or change the colours of the LEDs with the push of a button. It is very convenient that it is rechargeable by the built it solar panel or by the USB port. I am very happy with this light. I didn't realize it at the time of purchase, but it is great that "every purchase brings safe, affordable energy access to off-grid households across India and Africa."
