Hard plastic my husband tried to install the casing to his Samsung Avant but it will scratch his phone .

This is an excellent case! I bought the Red one for my wife and I like it better that the hybrid case I currently own for my Galaxy Avant. I just ordered it again in Black for myself. Very Nice and well worth $10. I recommend it.
