This springform pan worked exactly as I hoped. This is a great lil tin for a homesick fella wanting a pie! I blind bake my hot water crust pies with ceramic beads using these tins to mould my pie shape. They work great, even over open ( not sure that’s a word ) to allow the bottom to freely be removed without damaging the sides if needed. After res uk g the beads from the wax paper liner I put into it, I flick the claps and gently coax the pastry. My only concern that is after a few uses I devolved a spot of rust on one of the bottom plates, we now hand dry the others after washing to prevent this, kinda like this super nice hosihino knife set we recently purchased, has to be washed and hand dried immediately to prevent rusting. There are probably better options for tins out there but for under 20 dollars it’s hardly a chore to wipe them after washing. Although if you are a dishwasher fan you may find another option better if that’s your preferred method of cleaning. They are thick enough to do a lil pie, I wish they were not so prone to rusting but otherwise pretty durable. Your not paying out big bucks so so u less you are a hard core baker this is right up any casual cooks street. I’m still new to pie making so don’t judge the water crust pastry itself, more the integrity of the blind bakes shape using the afore mentioned tin.

This pan is a dream for making/cutting and eating cheesecakes, but butter will leak through when in the oven causing smoke to blow from my oven and the occasional flare-up, this is easily resolved with a catch pan underneath. Mind you butter and not batter ever gets through. This is a perfect fit in my 4-quart slow cooker. About a dozen cheesecakes later, still no signs of leaking. I do lightly grease it before using; however, the one time I forgot it wasn't an issue at all. Absolutely nothing stuck.
