Irish Songs for Tin Whistle

This book has an excellent variety of wonderful Irish tunes. Perfect for the tin whistle. I have a D tin whistle ordered that will be arriving soon & can't wait to start playing. I highly recommend this book.It shipped very quickly. It arrived less than a week after ordering.

For those like me, who can't yet glance at sheet music and translate that into notes > into finger movements quite yet, this book is fantastic.Seeing the tabs laid out below the standard sheet music is a great way for me to learn songs. I still rely mostly on the tabs for fingering, but the sheet music above gives me a feel for the timing of the notes.It's a great way to dive right in and start playing songs before you're fluent with standard music notation, hopefully it helps me get there too so I can enjoy the myriad other books that lack these very useful tabs.The only reason I knocked it down a star is the binding. Spiral bound would have been nice.

Often times these tin whistle song books have many songs I'm not familiar with. I expect that, then I listen and learn the ones I didn't know. That's good because it increases the lexicon of my song vocabulary of this tradition. THIS book had more titles I recognized by name than the other books I've seen. It's well laid out. The score is one the left page and lyrics (and even chord charts if you need them) on the right. I agree with other reviews that a spiral binding would've been an improvement--but not necessary. It's a larger sized folio and any decent music stand could hold it open. They've even printed the whistle TAB right in the score line with the lyrics. For this price you can't go wrong. Music and song books don't have the same necessity of design standard that other publications follow. Aside from the possible addition of a spiral binding this is how they should all be done, and for this price it's a great deal.~JSV

Great book!!As a musician who wanted to learn to play the tin whistle this book fits the bill.Melodies are not over simplified and not over complicated. Plenty of songs to choose from.I also have this writers mandolin book, American Mandolin Songbook. Excellent as well!

A great selection of tunes for the tin whistle and I really like that this book has the fingering chart for each note so you are learning the fingering and the matching notes. A good size songbook and laid out very well. Very satisfied with the book and the price you can't beat for under 10 bucks!

Fun during dreary dark times

Great book for beginners like me!I’m already seeing a lot of the popular traditional Irish tunes/songs.I highly recommend!

This book is great for learning the whistle and for guitar players.

This is a great book that is very easy for us, tin flute newbs, to understand.It is full of Irish songs with all of the fingerings for the tin flute.We bought this book to learn how to play the tin flute.It did not disappoint.Giving it four stars, as we really didn't love or know the music in the book. As beginners, we also found it difficult to understand the music's timings and found some of the fingerings too difficult for our level.

Shipping was fast and the book is exactly as described. It provides sheet music, fingering charts, guitar chords and lyrics; it's really comprehensive. Highly recommend!

前書きにも著者が書いていますが、この種の楽曲は歌い継がれるうちに様々なメロディ、歌詞が存在するのが当たり前です。よって、この本の楽譜が標準的なそれかどうかわかりませんが、十分に参考になります。旋律の楽譜に加えて、ティンホイッスルのポジション、コードネームが書いてあり、友人と楽しむのに役立ちます。日本に居ながら、このような本が安く手に入る、良い時代になりました。

I've just taken up the tin whistle and the instructions are good and helpful. It would have been nice to see a link to their youtube channel to follow along but it is what it is.I can't say much more as the learning process is not steep just memorizing the notes/keys.I used to play the bagpipes and the playing is the same as a chanter, just don't blow as hard.Overall I'm happy with this buy.

英語なので　わかりません。曲の譜面に笛の指を動かすコードが書いてあるけれども聴いたことない曲ばかりで初心者には　　　　わかりません。ギターコードが書いてあり　それが良いです。
