Easy to assemble and use!
This is my second purchase. The last one I bought eight years ago. Works like a champ! When my spa cover began to take on water weight (don't they all eventually?), this cover lifter still held up, no problem. No drilling necessary into the tub cabinet or into your floor or deck. The anchor plates are very large and slide under the hot tub after you empty out the tub water (you DO change your water from time to time!). Pay close attention to the assembly directions. Make sure the screw heads on the crossbar face the rear of the tub. When you open the tub, they face downward and don't scratch up your cover! I used an impact drill with a Phillips head bit for the fifteen self tapping screws. Makes it very easy. Don't try to use a screwdriver, you will be there all day. If you don't have an impact drill, use a regular drill to hold your Phillips head bit, it will work fine too. Kit comes with two stamped metal wrenches. They are okay, if you have nothing better, but using a socket set and an adjustable wrench speeds things along nicely. The 18" of clearance advertised is pretty close from my experience. Measure your available space at the rear of the hot tub before you buy. Happy soaking!

Easy enough for 63 year old woman to install. Super easy to use!
I have a small tub , approx 5’ x 6’ so I wasn’t sure if this would work. My cover had been punctured and taken on water weight so I needed something to make it easier to get it off and on. After dismantling my cover to let it air dry for a week, I put it back together and installed this rocker. I am a 63 year old woman and had no trouble assembling and installing it. I had emptied my tub for a scrub so that made it easier to slide it under but I still had to use a crowbar. Super easy, all by myself. It took a few times to get it in the right place and I tested several times before screwing it together. Because of the small size tub I couldn’t put the bottom pieces 8” from the back as it says to do. That position put the crossbar way too far over the wrong side of the center fold on the lid. So I decided to try it where it fit- right about at the edge and so far, so good. I’m hoping it holds up ok that way! The tub is full now and it is so easy to get my cover off and, most importantly, back on! The hardest part of this was taking my cover apart to try and rid some water weight. Not easy by any stretch but it did help. It’s not as light as it once was but it helps. If you have a similar problem, do a YouTube search for help. I’m so excited to be able to easily use my tub again, thanks to this cover holder!

Good cost/performance lifter. Does the job.
I used this for a 90"x90" cover, which is heavy. The installation is pretty straight forward, and the instructions are very clear. The only issue is that in my case the ground is crushed grannite, therefore not completely flat (as compacted fines or concrete). My solution was to add a bolt to the second hole to secure the base to the jacuzzi frame, and it does the trick. You can help the lifting with your leg on the lower arm, yet when opening the cover it is heavy (in my case), and I recommend "leading": the motion holding the cover all the way to prevent it from slamming. The plastic caps do not stay on the head of the large stainless steel bolts. I cannot tell about durability, but time will tell. Based on the quality of materials and finish I would tend to believe they will hold nicely. Overall good product and decent construction, ast a good price point.

Second Try is a charm
I almost returned it , almost. First attempt to use was a disaster with the thing moving like it was going to break. The trick , I believe is on the operation. I have one of the largest tubs out there from Master Spas (91x91) so, the cover is big and heavy. Using the lift from one side alone is a no go. However, when you use if from the back, pulling it on the middle, by the handles, it works like a charm. Easy to install, the screw covers are great, it is not ugly and something I even forget it is there. Great by for the price. I just wish they would make better instructions on the operation. Ahh , bonus points for the self-drilling screws. Those things are high quality.

EZ setup
Followed another reviewers suggestion of using a small crow bar to lift tub with water in it and worked like a charm. Since my tub is a 2 person triangle design, I had to cut (see second pic) one middle section down and drill 3 new holes, very simple. Works like a charm. Well worth the investment and not manually removing, setting on the ground and then the hassle of getting it back on. Great invention!!!!!! Update 4 months later and used 4 days a week since purchase and it's all working perfect! Just a great tool.

Good addition to my smaller hot tub
We bought a smaller “starter” hot tub and I wanted to make sure to get a lid lift that would work with its smaller size and still allow me to open and close the hot tub by myself. This lift does the trick perfectly!

Did not work for lifesmart spa
We have a life smart spa, and this did not work. It does not stay under the spa and it messes up the cover. It’s just a waste of money.

Well worth the $
this hot tub cover lift is just excellent. My wife was having a difficult time trying to deal with the cover without it, but now that this is installed easy as a breeze. For the price, it is a real deal. Easy to install and easily lifts the hot tub cover with very little effort.
