The idea of increasing the cetane rating might be true for some of the additives one can buy, but that is really not the reason to buy any diesel additive! DEF is injected after the combustion process and only used to help dissolve and burn out any particulate matter being emitted in the exhaust.

Yes I use 6oz every fill up it is great for the engine and increases power

.26 ounces per gallon of diesel.
