Classic Comfort and Studio-Quality Sound
The Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro X is a fantastic pair of closed-back headphones that deliver detailed, punchy sound with excellent isolation. The bass is tight and powerful without overpowering the mids and highs, which stay clear and natural. These headphones are perfect for mixing, tracking, and casual listening. The build quality is robust and durable, and the velour ear pads are soft and comfortable for extended wear. However, if you have a larger head, be aware that the clamping force can feel a bit tight at first, though it usually loosens up over time with use.Overall, the DT 770 Pro X balances professional-grade audio performance with comfort and style, making it a top choice for both audio professionals and enthusiasts.

Premium Craftsmanship and Quality
This is my second pair of BD phones. I purchased the DT880 Premium Edition back in 2021, and was very happy with them. They are semi-open, so they had the advantage of less ear fatigue after many hours of mixing. But the left side suddenly stopped producing a signal and I was past the warranty date, so while I wait for that pair to get repaired, I figured I better find a replacement.I spent several hours researching and reading reviews. After concluding that I am very happy with the weight and fit of the BD brand, I decided to stick with them, despite the premature failing of my previous pair. I went with the DT770 Pro X this time, the closed back means I'll be sacrificing the ear fatigue for a tighter soundstage.I'm a producer/composer and spend about 10 hours every day at my mixing desk. I occasionally use my Adam A5 desk monitors, but end up doing most of my mixing through the cans. But I'm not officially an audiophile, and I'm not that techy, so I won't give specs on frequency range or other details. Suffice to say, these headphones sound incredible. Solid low-end and very crisp, clear highs. My mixes have never sounded better. The BD headphones tend to have a very flat frequency response, so what you hear in your cans is well-represented across other sound sources. Your mixes won't end up colored with too much bass or high mids when you go to do the car test. These drivers appear to be more powerful than the DT880 also, I find I am leaving the volume knob on my interface between 10:00 and 1:00 instead of cranked up to 3:00 as they often were with the DT880. That could be an ohmage factor, though. Like I said, not that techy. My favorite feature of these phones are the comfort (the velour ear pads are supreme. I can't abide the sticky faux leather/protein material other brands use). They are very snug, but don't clamp your head, and the headband has an extra recess at the peak so it doesn't press down on the peak of your head. I sometimes forget I am wearing them.I also appreciate the classic looks of the phones. One reason I never purchased the Sennheiser brand (I do own Sony, AT, AKG and Samson headphones as well), is their odd ear cup shape. I don't want to look like a weird alien has attached itself to my head. The detachable cable is a big plus too. I'd hate to have to replace $200 headphones because a $3 part failed.Someone else mentioned in their review that if someone told them this is what $1000 headphones sounded like, they wouldn't be surprised. I think these cans punch way above their weight and I'll be recommending them to all my home studio buddies.

Very clean low and low mid for closed back, kind of hyped on the very top end
I am a former sound engineer and have a pile of headphones. I wanted some closed back but in general I don't like them, the shells tend to make a complete mess of 100-140Hz, mud or they have a weird hollowness around 500-630. The shells on these are great in those ranges very well balanced. These have a great image to them, the lows are a bit understated, though with break-in, they may loosen up a bit.One note, my ears are hammered at this point, years of abuse, big losses in high frequency and these are still quite bright to me. I think if you had really good hearing these may be a bit irritating. Again will update in a while after they are well broken in, but these are quite hyped very far up like 5kHz+ and for me to notice that (I have a 30db drop up there) it may be intense for some folks. My preferred pairs are both open back DT-880 and AKG 240 Studio, they are more balanced I feel than these are but they get noisy if you are turned up and let in a lot of room noise. These have a curve to them much like MDR-7506 but the MDRs have a hotter boosted bass and a presence curve that is peaked lower at 3-5kHz, the MDR are great heavy rock/metal/hip-hop cans for general listening, where these are better with jazz or classical as the boost way up opens the sound stage. These get a bit harsh with material that is already hyped in the mix itself. These are very well made, clamping force is nicely balanced, silicone straight cable is nice, very comfortable cushions. Will be interesting to see how these break in.**UpdateWith several days of running in, they are loosening up nicely. The high end almost brittleness is gone and the low end has loosened up. These are quickly becoming very nice now. Much closer to my DT-880, very well balanced but with the added isolation of the closed back. Very pleased. I think these are quickly becoming a bargain for the price.

Great studio cans
I bought these to use for programming, referencing and lossless listening. I like the better than my 990 pros because of the detachable/non cooled cable. And the bass isolation. These are great for producing and audiophiles.

Really good!
These are fantastic!I’m using them for a gaming headset, video editing and to listen to music. They fit great and are very comfortable for long hours of use. They are pretty light on your head and cover your ears completely.Sound quality is awesome!

Good!
These are solid and just work. Most parts are replaceable - cable, ear pads, headband padding, and other components. You can buy parts separately instead of throwing the whole thing away when something breaks. In a world where everything’s designed to break and force you to buy new, these are refreshing. Sound’s good, feel sturdy, and actually repairable when something goes wrong. Only downside is they’re not exactly cheap, but seems like they’ll last.Would buy again.
