Mine came very brown yellow did anyone else's?

its supposed to replicate the CAT machines. Mine came very close to "CAT yellow" . Mine was very realistic(darker), not super bright "toy yellow" I think the color is intended to be darker for this reason. I'm an operator in real life and these are pretty close on detail other than not having the authorized CAT logo, but even theirs is pretty similar. Great job in my opinion.I also disagree with the reviews on its digging capabilities. I have been digging rocky ground that was rototilled last year. if you take your time and learn to work the machine, it will dig more than you expect. I've dug out rocks the size of golf balls with it . Great for the money in my opinion.

What parts are metal vs plastic? Thanks

The bucket is all metal. My son and I love this unit! It has been lots of fun. Its pretty strong, too. The only thing I don't like about it is that it clicks loudly if you move it to its limits. I think this is a safety mechanism to keep it from stripping its gears. Also, the battery lasts a long time.

Does the grapple itself open/close remotely? It doesn’t look like it in the movement diagrams

Yes, the grapple remotely opens really wide and closes completely for pickup.

680° rotating cab? What does this mean?

That means that the cab can rotate continuasly more then 2 times in full circle until you have to turn it back the other way which is a great advantage when playing
