Gigabyte Aero 15X v8-BK4 15.6" Gaming Laptop - i7-8750H GTX 1070 Max-Q, 16GB RAM, 512GB M.2 PCIe SSD, 144Hz FHD IPS, Win10 + Gaming Bundle

I've owned the Aero 15 1st gen and knew what to expect from this one as far as build quality and software experience. The extra upgrade from a 60hz to a 144hz panel. SATA SSD to an NVMe SSD, 1060 to a 1070 Max-Q, and from a quad-core to a hexa-core is definitely worth it. The only issue I have is the GPU not working on boot if booted from battery. This seems to be a Nvidia driver issue as the one shipped with the notebook doesn't have the issue and only the latest three updates are compatible with this model due to the hardware id not being listed in previous drivers. All three of them exhibit this problem and I have submitted feedback to Nvidia regarding this and would highly suggest anyone who has this issue to do the same. I will update this review if anything changes.

So far this thing is beautiful and lacks any issues. I have seen some mention of issues with the keyboard, gpu drivers, and backlight bleed but my model seems unaffected. I'll update if anything changes or if it stays problem free!Update 1: 4/22/18 (-1 star)PROS:- BEAUTIFUL Screen- The build quality and aesthetic is better in person than the review videos showCONS: (mostly minor gripes, nothing too deal breaking, but disappointing since this is a 2300$ device)- Gigabyte has some custom GPU drivers which had to be downloaded from their site since the Nvidia drivers don't seem to work right now due to hardware IDs on the 1070 not matching. This is somewhat concerning since I can't really test performance due to old drivers.....- A few of the keys have dimmer back-lighting than the rest of the keyboard- Very minor back-light bleed on the bottom left and right of the screen (only noticeable on a black image)- Fan noise is a little more than I expected, but I only wear headphones so its not a big deal for me- USB ports are a little tight but will hopefully loosen up over timeUpdate 2: 5/03/18- Nvidia drivers now work!!- I'm overall happy so far minus a few annoyances like ~90C temps on the cpu, but it is understandable- The tab and shift key back-light issue is due to the LEDs under those keys being off center and not due to QC, basically bad design on Gigabyte part

After much research, I chose this laptop due to the price point, physical dimensions, and technical specs. In my opinion, this is a very beautiful laptop with superb build quality. There are no creaky hinges and it just feels very solid. The performance is extremely good at high and ultra high resolution and overall, I've been very pleased with my purchase. There are 2 items that one should be aware of, though. 1. They keyboard still has a double keystroke issue, but there are ways to mitigate and reduce the frequency of that happening. 2. The computer seems to stutter frequently while on battery (not even playing games), but I'm still looking into why this happens. Overall, I don't think anyone would have any major issues with this laptop.

Everything came as expected with the exception of the headphones. The actual headphones are the same promo offer you are seeing elsewhere which is a wired Beats headset with Aero branding. No biggie here, as everything else that came with the laptop was bonus. Still breaking it in, but loving it so far. Bit spendy, but for the specs, what do you expect?? Will update this review as I play around with it more.

Everything came just like I expected and I'm already in love this PC is perfect runs incredibly fast looks amazing the the package deal was perfect I got everything I needed and for the PC itself build quality is amazing and perfect for having a gaming laptop without all the crazy lights and huge computer perfect for Business and Play

This laptop is beautiful. Screen itself is something I've been wanting for awhile on a gaming laptop. Thin Bezel & 144hz. Does not thermal throttle under Heaven benchmark.Keyboard has a nice touch and mousepad has great responsiveness!

This is an amazing laptop for the price. Performance is great, the screen is beautiful and I love the keyboard. I looked at several laptops and did way too much research before deciding on the Aero 15x. I needed something I could edit video and pictures on and game with when away from the house.

So far so good. There has been nothing to complain about. Compared to my last laptop this one runs like a dream. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for lightweight ultra portable computer. I don't buy a laptop every year so I am planning on having this one last for a long time.
