my nana bought one 4 or 5 years ago the blade isn't very sharp anymore so i bought her new one. works great tested it out before i gave it to her. i like the swivel head it has and how you can switch from trimming grass to hedge very quick and easy.

My father in law is over 90 years old but he still refuses to stop doing chores. He wanted to be able to trim around a 'snowball' bush he has but the string trimmer he owned has gotten a little too heavy and unwieldy for him these days. I got the SunJoe trimmer knowing it wasn't a weed whacker powerhouse and that's exactly what I wanted. This is more like a nice pair of clippers on steroids. My father in law can maneuver this trimmer around with no issues and it does a good job even in the thicker stuff. The trimmer pivots on 2 wheels and you can guide it easily with a flick of the wrist. Charges fast and the charge stays with it for a decent amount of time.This trimmer also comes with a sort of hedge trimmer attachment but no one has gotten the hang of using it yet. It doesn't matter. It's made my father in law happy and productive and it doesn't cause any muscle strains or pains for him because the weight is pretty negligible.

This is a low-cost, very usable tool, just charge it, choose whether you want the grass shear or hedge trimmer attachment and head outside. It's fine for any weed or overgrowth that is not going to put up a fight. Tougher species with deep roots or thickened stems, not so much. The hedge trimmer will help you level off a bush that is growing unevenly but you will immediately realize this is not designed for topiary. I hve not found a reason to use the telescope accessory and having extended it once, I'm not capable of figuring out how to push it back to its small length.

Although, I am typically a Black & Decker product purchaser… I have been converted… I cannot say enough good things about this Sun Joe Grass Trimmer…. I wanted something with a telescoping handle so I wouldn’t have to crawl around my entire property, edging the grass. Although there are a few areas where I still need to get on my hands and knees… This works superbly… Also used it to trim the “ditch” in front of my home …. Battery is long, lasting, product is very easy to use, easy to detach from the telescoping handle. Very pleased with this product.

OK, 1st the good. The scissor attachment worked well on thin, green vines, did not try it on grass, so cannot comment on that. Seems to have adequate power for my job, don't know how long the charge lasts, since I only used it for about 15 minutes, but it still had really good power and performance.Now, for the bad....could not remove the grass attachment, to put on the hedge trimmer blade......it's like the scissor attachment was glued in place w/ heavy duty glue. I'm a strong woman, but the thing wouldn't budge. Broke out in a sweat after 1/2 an hour trying to remove it, no such luck. It's on their permanently.So disappointed, because I really liked how it worked and the price point, but what's the point if I can't use it for the main reason I bought it.....to cut back my neighbors annoying & overgrown bougainvillea that loves to grow 2 feet overnight into my yardThe other issue was when I was getting it ready to return. I couldn't collapse the extension bar all the way down, so it could fit back in the box. Otherwise, the scissor attachment worked well while i had it. Kinda bummed that I had to return it, because it made quick work out of trimming plants that seem to grow like crazy overnight, down here in Florida

Bought this because I can't get down to trim with the old grass shears. It came well packed with easy instructions. It also came with some charge. It is a little on the flimsy side when using but is lightweight to move about. I have only used the grass shears which seem to have plenty of power to cut. The full run time seems to be greater than 40 minutes for me, and so far I have not drained it completely. The recharge time is measured in hours not minutes so a spare battery might be useful for those who may need a longer run time (don't know if it's available). I have used it 4 times, each at least 1/2 hr. Great buy for the money.

I bought this because I just have a small amount of grass along the front of my porch and don’t like the mess from the weed eater for that tiny bit of grass.I don’t know how anyone would think this is great. It’s wobbly and very cheaply made. You need four hands to remove it from the cheesy pole. It’s built like a very cheap toy.It did cut some grass, but the effort to push it along while it rips at it is more than if I would just bend over and pull the grass out by hand.I am returning it after first use.Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I used it for trimming grass. It worked good, however I have only used it for a short period of time, so I don't know how it will perform in the long run.

This seems to work well. Shame you can't get a spare battery. That would be great to able to charge one while using the other. As well it came unpacked and loose in the bix?
