If you work with open wounds this is an amazing peodict!

These straps worked very well cut to size needed they absorb the necessary moisture to keep the area clean and dry helping avoid the possibility of infection.I recommend th I s product to anyone suffering from open wounds that can get worse if they are not kept dry.

Wound successfully granulating in. I've dampened it in saline and used dry; still not sure the best way for this packing. No instructions are given. It's an extremely good value, I think it will be useful for many types of open wounds. Caution: do not allow this packing to go over skin edges, it will macerate skin. Cut to size and use it only in/ on wide open wounds, then cover with other sterile dressing/ wrap.Edit: the wound continues to heal and the dog started removing the guaze dressing/ vet wrap placed over this packing. The single small piece of packing that I'd laid in the open granulation bed had adhered to the wound in a scab like fashion. When I picked off the packing, the wound was doing great underneath. So, I cleaned it up and put new packing on and redressed the wound - then she tore off the wrap again. I've not redressed the wound, the packing piece remains in place and protects the area. A very useful product, the wound is doing great.

OK, so it worked, but because my right nostril only has very strong flow it took two separate cut plugs to stop the bleeding. And an important note; these rope pads are great, but they do not allow a scab to form, so essentially you're left with a clotted mess and need to be very careful to avoid another nose bleed. I do like that they are very , very absorbent. I cut 1-1.5 inch pieces , fold them over in half and insert as a plug. Works fine. Perhaps if they added the styptic pencil formula to the pad they would be more effective. PS: Worked great for the cut on my pinky finger.
