I wanted to like it, but....
Got this based on a lot of good reviews. I am currently working on a remodel in the basement and use a headlight constantly for all sorts of things. The other one I have is a larger rechargable (with the battery pack at the back of the head) and I wanted something lighter.First couple of charge go-rounds were great. I got a good solid 6-8 hrs on low beam (all I really need to help see things) but now, going on its 4th charge, it seems to only last about 3 1/2 hours or so...Too bad I let it sit unused for a couple of weeks and now it is past the return date, so I guess I have a light that needs frequent charging. Fortunately it has a usb cord so I do have charging options, but I wish I didn't need that option. So it goes...Now a week later, I'm finding that the thing won't even stay on for an hour. It will go off and I can turn it back on again but it will only stay on for about another 10 minutes. Charge it overnight and get another hour of use out of it, repeat....I thought that maybe the batteries might have been substandard (read: junk) and figured I'd change them for some AAA I have but, despite there being a locking clip (which promptly broke off) and divots on the (2) sides and obvious hinges at the bottom, the thing is glued shut....!!!??? I guess "No user serviceable parts inside".I guess the moral of the story could be that you get what you pay for, but I don't believe that this was worth the cost.

Bright light and light weight but get used to regular charging
I like that I don't need to continuously buy batteries for this head lamp - it's just cheaper to operate. But that's also what I don't like about it. With my old lamp I could tell when the batteries started going because the light would get more and more dim. With a rechargeable headlamp like this one, which has a lithium ion battery I assume, not only do you not get a heads up when the battery is about to die, there's no dimming just before it does. The light just goes out. Doesn't matter if you're in a dark attic or crawlspace or fixing the underside of a sink. If it's time for the battery to die, it's gonna go and you're gonna be without a light unless you've a backup. That said, the fix is to simply get into the habit of periodically charging the device after x number of uses. One thing I did notice is that the battery life is nowhere near 100 hrs as is advertised but that could be due to temperature or some other factor. In case Foxelli is interested in making this light a little better for the end user, perhaps there could be an indicator light to let the user know the battery is below 15%.

White LED died from a minor drop on the ground
As you can see from my original review below (at the 6 month point), I was happy with the light (and had originally gave it 4 stars). I believe it fell off my counter last night and landed on our wood floors, and that I am guessing is what caused the main/white bulb to stop working.... The headlamp still takes a charge, there are no cracks on the casing, and the red LEDs still work, but alas the main bulb no longer works and thus it is useless to me. I would have hoped it would have held up from a minor drop like that; fortunately this drop occurred at home and not while I was out camping... otherwise, I'd be camping in the dark. The on/off multi-function button, the tilt mechanism, and the headband all feel solidly made, and continue to hold up after six months of use.It is a very lightweight headlamp, and I appreciate that compared to the heavier non-rechargeable ones I've had before. The charge lasts a long time... I have never had it die on me during a multi-hour walk, and I generally get multiple walks in before I recharge it. Also, the fact that it is micro-USB rechargeable makes it easy for me to take on road trips without bringing a different charger (I simply use my phone charger to recharge it); and I HAVE SAVED LOTS OF MONEY ON BATTERIES since switching to this rechargeable headlamp (and I am not only saving money, but helping the environment by not going with disposable batteries).

Bought 2, both dead after one charge.
Update 1/10/17These light are still going strong, been using one for bike commuting and the other for working on cars in my garage. Great lights!*update 9/10/17Foxelli customer service reached out to me and replaced both head lamps free of charge. I've used both of these and recharged them a few times and I'm happy to report they are working great!I used to buy Petzl, Black Diamond and Princeton Tec lights. These Foxelli's are every bit as good, actually better with the rechargeable ability, at a much lower cost.(old review below)I have 2 of these lights. Both only lasted 1 charge. Afterwards, they will not take another charge and will not turn on.I actually have other headlamps from Foxelli that are different models, and they've all worked well. I don't know why this particular model is so bad.

Strong light, a bit bulky, old mini USB charging connector
It's got a strong light, which is important of course. It's a bit bulkier than you'd expect, especially given the internal rechargeable battery. The main drawback is the outdated mini USB charging connector, rather than the now common micro USB that cell phones and other devices use. Admittedly this is clear in the product listing, in fact they have a big picture of the connector, but still all the micro USB charging cables you have around for charging phones won't work with this. You'll need to use one of their included mini cables.

Top!
