Love it! An essential.
I really thought I reviewed this before, but Amazon just asked...Simple and clever design. Perfect fit. Great angle for viewing and touchscreen use. Even the (standard equipped) MH-48 slides, just right, under the little stand. Four little rubber feet keep it steady on the desk, and two more hold the unit securly against the stand with the single-point attachment screw.Unlike the FTM-400XDR, there is nothing fancy about this stand; but just like the radio, it is very well thought-out and produced. As a woodworker, I considered just building my own stand-- mahogany, nice dovetailed joints, acanthus leaf accents on the side, maybe a Newport shell on the reverse, and a nice warm oiled finish..., but this was too easy and too good.

Great Stand for Home Use of The FTM-400DR Radio
I set-up a Wires-X node with the required components, HRI-200(because I wanted to host my own room), power supply and notebook computer. I used this stand to hold the radio head at a good viewing angle on the desktop where the station is installed. The set-up is just great. This little stand is everything I could have hoped for. At the price, if you have the need to use your FTM-400DR as a base station, for any reason, buy one, you will be a "happy camper". It is well designed and well built.

Servers it purpose
Its nothing but formed acrylic. So way over priced IMHO

Great stand for FTM-400XDR control head.
Much easier to use than factory mount. Has non skid buttons on the bottom, makes it very stable. I love this base almost as much as the FTM-400XDR radio itself.

Actually for what you get it's a rip
Totally overpriced for a piece of plastic. I thought it would at least be aluminum to be honest. Best part is I didn't pay for it, otherwise would have returned it. Not recommend at all unless it's free.

Good Stand, But Not Great
The radio head fits nicely on the stand and looks very nice. It does hold the radio that the proper angle for viewing. The problem is the stand is not very heavy, and the rubber feet do not keep the head from sliding on the desk when buttons are pressed. A heavy metal base (like their handi-talkie stand) would cure this. Also, as many reviewers have mentioned, there is no hole in the back for the control cable to pass through, so the cable must exit on the side of the control head.
